[Tut] All Sythe Members That Use Teamviewer Should Read This and Should Be Stickied.

Recently I've overcame many scammers when I tried to buy runescape pins. They would try to send files that would contain keylogging/trojan viruses that can seriously harm your computer, and get secret personal information. Many have been victims of these incidents, and thats why I want to make this to help every Sythe member.

I will lead you through a 3 step process that takes 30 seconds, and can save you $Hundreds of dollars in computer repair.

Step 1: Go under "Extras" in the top tab, and press "Options"



Step 2: You should have a box like the picture shown below, press the "Security" button the left side of the box, and on the bottom of the box it should say "Access Control", change it to "Custom Settings". Then press "Configure" (Make sure you press the right configure button, the one that is wrapped around in a blue box on my picture below is the one you're supposed to click."



Step 3: Now after you have pressed the "Configure" button, it should pop up another box like the picture I have below. Go to "File Transfer", and click on the scroll down box, and make it "Denied" or "After Confirmation"; what this does is if you are buying something such as a runescape membership pin, the seller cannot send you files that could possibly harm your computer or either the file will have to be confirmed by you, the buyer. Now press "OK", and your teamviewer should be safe!




Now you should be a step safer from any trojans or other virus files on your computer! If you chose the option "After Confirmation" in Step 3, just be smart when someone sends you a file, that it's not a virus file.

"Partner can disable local input" should also be set to denied. You don't want them to stop your keyboard and mouse from working now do you?

ive actually had some java classes, lol i plan on trying to be a programmer on sythe in the future but im still a little noob.

ty! i hope this does get stickied, it was my intention of making this thread because i see people on threads get add-wared or trojaned without knowing, this may apply to the staff of sythe too because a couple have been recently hacked.

 

Thanks man. I didn't know team viewer could be so dangerous. Just changed the settings now.

 

Glad I helped someone that could of been a victim in the future.

Because the truth behind the fact is that MANY people do get these viruses and can't even control their computer into going to sythe.org and warning people that person is a scammer.

I have removed many viruses manually on my computer in the past, and it's not easy, even if you know what you're doing. Some will disable your task manager use which is vital and is the key ingredient for the knockout punch on the virus.

 

This is a good guide but put it int he User submitted guide section!

Good guide and would be helpful to most of the Sythe members.

Although, about it becoming sticked, it's not up to you and I don't think it belongs in your title. Leave it up to the mods and admins what gets stickied, you just write the guides.

If they copy files to your computer, they can run those files through teamviewer. Meaning you don't even have to do anything to get infected.

Don't be a dick.

Gohan making this kids dreams come true. Nice guide none the less someone tried to do this to me a while back but it was like a 13 minute file transfer and I just stared at it like the fuck this kid think he's doing.

 

Thanks for the guide, hopefully more people are safe from these hacks now, I've seen them happen too often, although you can cancel the file transfer on teamviewer while it's happening, they cannot secretly transfer a file

 

i've only used teamview once and i clicked the option were they can only view me doing stuff.

could they of still sent me a keylogger?(without me knowing)
