Sectional Rules

I do not think sectional rules should be allowed to be placed into Stickies such as http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=900903. The only reason someone would read such a sticky is if they wanted to know about the Official Tiny Chat, which if they were to use to the one they would not read that sticky at all.

I don't think this sort of thing should be allowed when there is a rules sticky. Its just not fair for the users to have to read every singe sticky to make sure there are no rules in it. I mean. Thats like putting a rule at the bottom of this: http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=871614 saying that you were not allowed to talk about any other client. Its not fair at all and shouldn't be allowed.

 

The rules sticky says that all rules do apply, except for a few. Those few does not include advertising. As for the new tinychat, an exception has been made since it's ran and moderated by staff members.

 

Advertising all different Tiny Chats has always been allowed. If it was not, you would not need a rule saying you can not talk about them and you could just infract people for advertising. So, it is still unfair.

That rule is ridiculous. We should be able to advertise whatever tinychat we want. And since the majority of us still use sytheofficial, we should be able to advertise it.

No but by banning one channel, and mentioning another in a sticky, you are pretty much endorsing gearheart. People will still spam porn there. Really you're just controlling what we see on the forum, and shoing favoratism over one channel.

either way it's shoddy modding. Why so srs/restrictive? Te spam rules don't say "no advertising generally accepted standard sythe tinychat channel"

What are the actual steps to making a sticky? (Just curious)
Is it a certain mod's judgement that it should be stickied.
Ex: Sindre sticking the TC thing.

Or does it have to go through a Global/someone of higher authority.

The only person I consulted when I made a sticky was Sin to be honest. Pretty much just to cross the t's and dot the i's.

 

Advertising is allowed in signatures, and discussing sites without using the URL's to recruit is also allowed.
