How to complete a sucessful job interview.

Hello, welcome to my 5th guide!

I am going to be sharing some of my experiences and general knowledge in guide format on job interviews. If these steps are followed I'm positive success in receiving the job you desire is near.

    Step 1. - Prior knowledge.
The first thing you want to do is find out more about the job you are applying for. Dependent on the job this step may not apply much to you. Obviously if you have an interview you will already know a fair amount about the job, but I'm willing to bet if you do some research via Google or people in the industry you will find new information you did not know. Knowing this information will allow you to come off much smarter in the interview and seem like a great person to hire.

Step 2. - Being mentally prepared.
This is one of the most important steps as it will help the interview flow much easier. Half the battle for this step is prior knowledge, which we have already covered. The other half of the battle though is considering which questions you will be asked during this interview. For example, imagine you are applying to work in a day care, they ask you - if one of the kids has forgotten his lunch, his parents aren't answering and you can't leave the child alone what do you do? (you are working alone) This is a very tough question to answer with out any mental preparation, but if you had gave some thought to the possible scenarios of this job and the questions that would be asked your answer would be much better.

    Step 3.
    - Appearance.
Simply put, dress for the occasion. Meaning do not go dressed in a business suit for a cashier position and do not go dress in a t-shirt and jeans for an office job. Always be well groomed before an interview. This means you have shaved, showered, dressed in the appropriate (but always nice, untattered) clothes, good smelling (do not over due perfume/cologne, as such fragrances are unwelcome at some jobs)

Step 4. - Walking into the interview.

Approach the person giving the interview with confidence, look them in the eye and give a firm hand shake, how you behave in an interview can be a big influence on your chances.

    Step 5. Behavior.
During the interview be polite and friendly, if the interviewer seems like a nice laid-back person don't be afraid to throw a joke their way (If an appropriate time arises). Don't be afraid to engage them in conversation, although the interview should be formal if they are willing and friendly there is no reason why you can't talk to them some. With this being said it is not always a great idea, some interviewers want to keep it strictly professional and formal, if this is the case keep it that way.

    Step 6. Thank them.
At the end of the interview thank them for their time and the opportunity to be interviewed, let them know you look forward to hearing from them and give another firm hand shake.

    Credits.
Credits go to Google for most of the images used, the rest goes to me.

Nice guide, but fairly short, i'd give it a 6.5/10. It needs some work, don't use the center option, etc. I recommend under every picture putting the source because they're obviously not your pictures.

It's short because I don't think i really have to much more advice to give, you wouldn't want to overkill an interview :p but having said that i will try and think if there is anything else i can add.

This is a pretty decent guide actually. The ideas and steps you've got are very good and the vocabulary and grammar you used was impeccable. I'm very surprised not to even find one single typo. Kudos to you!
However, I suggest you change the font. No offense, but it makes my eyes hurt. I think it's due to the fact that the font colour is almost the same as Sythe's background. It blends in a bit too well and makes it tough on the readers' eyes.

Besides that, I suggest you try and use a variety of colours. In your guide, you stuck to two colours. I'd suggest using a few more attractive colours when formatting the guide. It makes it so much easier to read for people like me (I have sensitive eyes).

Finally, if you used resources that are not yours such as a few of those pictures, I suggest you cite these resources and give the person who uploaded them some credit. Just a simple "Images taken from Google. All credits to the original owners." will do.

Thank you for writing this quality guide. It was a very enlightening read. Keep up the fantastic work!

Why thank you, i appreciate it!

Tbh i am horrible at picking colors/design, two will always be my limit as apparently i can't even pick two that well :p

Actually i did write pretty much just that at the end, giving all the credits for images to google : )

Thank you for taking time to review another of my guides!

I didn't even want to open the thread after I saw the wording of the title; horrible word selection.

What experiences have you had that give you a general knowledge of what you should do at an interview?

How to complete a sucessful job interview.

I've been interviewed for numerous jobs, also my mother owns a convenience store and i have sat in on the process of interviewing people therefore have first hand knowledge of what an employer is looking for.
