[iPod touch/iPhone/iPAd] Download Free Apps With Cydia [.Alexisonfire]

Welcome to my second guide sythe.
To download free apps with Cydia, you must have jailbroken your iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad. To jailbreak your Apple decive simply go to www.jailbreakme.com on your Apple device using safari. Slide to jailbreak, then wait patiently for several minutes while it jailbreaks. Once it's done you should have Cydia installed.
NOTE: (Thanks To Brendan W.) Jailbreakme 2.0 Jailbreak Doesn't Work For iOS 4.02+

So you Want to Install Some Free Applications?

Installing applications is easy with Cydia. Here's how you do it.

Step One:
Open Up Cydia, Wait for It to Load.

Step Two:
Looking for a specific application? Press search then type it in. once you find it, click on it. Not looking for a specific application? Skip this step and proceed to step 3.

Step Three:
Press sections, then choose a section you want. Scroll until you find the application you want. Press it.

Step Four:
You should now see this screen:



Press install in the top right hand corner.
You should now see a confirm button in the right hand corner (Picture Below)Press it.



Step Five:
your app should now start downloading, it should only take 1-3 minutes, it's rather fast. When it's done downloading, you'll see a return to cydia button. Press that.

Step Six:
Congratulations, you just installed your first app free. you can now install more apps or press home, find you app and use it

Step Seven; Downloading Installo.us

1. Open Cydia and go to the Manage section and click Sources.
2. Type in cydia.hackulo.us Then click add source. (if you get a message just hit "ok")
3. Your device will respring itself. That's OK. Once its "resprung" open up Cydia and you should see Installous as a source. Hit the "Done" button.
4. Now click Hackulo.us and scroll down to Installous and click INSTALL.

It's an alright guide, but on an extremely easy topic. If you can jailbreak a phone, then I'm sure you will know how to get applications from cydia. Try to take your time, and write out a good detailed guide.

Your guide is decent, and you have a good beginning, but I think overall it's shallow and too narrow of a focus. Jailbreaking involves so much more than going to a website and sliding the button to jailbreak.

There's so much technical stuff and knowledge to be gained from learning about jailbreaking than just getting free apps. I understand that it's not the easiest thing for you to understand and write about, but if you're going to use this guide for your application you need to bring it to the next level.

Also, I can't state this enough: centering everything in your guide is actually counterproductive because its harder on the eyes, and thus less aesthetically pleasing.

What are the consequences of jailbreaking an iPhone?

Will I be able to download any paid app for free?

Just curious.

 

The only consequences are your warrenty will become void, but you can always restore your iPhone and there you go, you have your warrenty back

and yes you can, although to be able to get every app you have to add some sources which I will make a guide on how to add sources in a day or two. Without adding sources cydia doesn't have every app.
