    Do you celebrate Ramadan?

The amount of assholes in this thread is ridiculous even as an atheist myself. Disagreeing with someones religion is one thing, but you should at least have the common courtesy to respect their beliefs.

    Do you celebrate Ramadan?

Exactly. THANK YOU. The point I was trying to get across.

What the mod who's name is Louis said is pretty offensive nonetheless.

Why can't you all be like him?

    Thanks for contributing something.

    Do you celebrate Ramadan?

islam wanted the spotlight for so many years and now we have it its sad it had to be via 9/11 but now the spotlight is on muslims and we are seeing a record number of conversions to islam. There is also more tolerance to islam globally, of course there will always be those narrow minded,dim-witted,internet trolls who will constantly make up verses of the quran to suit their arguments but theres nothing we can do about them just ignore the nuuuubs :)

    Do you celebrate Ramadan?

Their holiday involves some forms of celebration, instead of total suffering.
Starving your body of what it needs will never result in complete positivity.

    Do you celebrate Ramadan?

I agree it's not the most fascinating thing to do. But is it okay to call someone's religion a piece of shit? You don't see me or any other people flaming in religion threads.

    Do you celebrate Ramadan?

I never said anything about Islam being shit. In fact I like it because a lot of it is about being with Allah spiritually. I just think suffering for it is over the top.

    Do you celebrate Ramadan?

okay please read the source i sent.
1.) its not a holiday it is a pillar of our faith.
2.)sehri is like breakfast you eat enough to last you.
3.)its not a conitnuous starvation for a month we break fast during maghrib azan and we do not eat to bursting point (well most good muslims).
4.) the human body usually has stockpiles of its 'needs' as you so quaintly put it and if replenished in enough time this will do no damage at all your thinking of diets such as atkins when misread people totally ignore carbs causing negative effects.
5.)ramadan is never seen as suffering to me i guess your just making an assumption on that point?...

    Do you celebrate Ramadan?

Ok, other people compared to other religious holidays so I presumed it was.

When you starve yourself your body will hold onto food for as long as possible. When it has passed that point it'll burn it's own muscle for energy, leaving you weighing less but with a higher body fat %

Most people would associate forced starvation with suffering, I can't imagine people being happy during this.

    1) u were thinking of eid ^^ its after ramadan.
    2) you arent starving yourself for long enough for it to reaching that providing you ate enough for sehri.
    3) well the thing is it isnt a very long fast i guess its bad you cant work out or anything because of inducing thirst but honestly im happy sything till its time to break my fast :)

    Do you celebrate Ramadan?

thing is its not a whole day, like me i used to save up lunch money and would not eat for the whole day that was a 6 hour fast in its own right but i wouldn't call it starvation.
maybe that explains y im so tolerant to fasting tho  ud have to ask some other muslim fasters about there opinions on fasting, for me its easy sometimes wen im not fasting i can be out till 10 and don't eat anything.

    Do you celebrate Ramadan?

you simply aren't getting the point or are being ignorant. There's no "starvation" involved. It is merely skipping your lunch. I'm sure many of us have done that occasionally. we simply do it on daily basis for a month. And it says in the holy book that if you are fasting and can not take it, there is no sin in eating. In fact, it will be a bigger sin if you DON'T eat. No one is forcing anyone to do anything. We're not 5 year olds.
