Also, do I need to restore before jailbreaking again? I jailbroke with redsnow. Without restoring, can I go to jailbreakme.com and jailbreak again?

 

You need to Restore & Upgrade, your iPhone will then have nothing on it. Then you go to Jailbreakme.com and Jailbreak, then Sync your iPhone with iTunes to get all your stuff back.

 

Okay after restoring, it suddenly asks me to Enter my pin code and reconnect my USB when im done. After I did that, it just shows a picture of a usb cable and the itunes symbol on my phone and nothing but the words iPhone on my iTunes screen. Im Currently not connected to the internet. Do i need to be connected to the internet?

It didn't restore properly. Connect it to iTunes and restore using an official Apple .ipsw.

 

All the problems are solved. I've upgraded it to 4.0.1 and jailbroke it. Thanks for all your help

 

Perfect timing. 4.0.2 just come out and apparently it breaks your jailbreak. So don't upgrade!

 

It won't break your jailbreak. It patches the method used to jailbreak.

However, don't upgrade because it WILL affect your ability to install packages via Cydia.
