Laptop HP Pavillion dv2000, parts. Powers on!

I've used this laptop for 3-4 years, it's in great shape. I've never spilled anything nor let it overheat, however the screen fails to come on with the rest of itself.
It's a great buy for anyone in need of parts. Charger is included. As well as any other accessories I can find (a cooling pad, mouse etc.)

So, does this work, or does it not work? Which parts don't work?

 

I have no idea if it's just the screen or what. I can power it on, lights come on and everything, except no display on the screen. I'm not an expert on this stuff, it's sold as is.

 

And do you not have like a monitor or a cable to plug the laptop into to see if it works? Because there aren't many parts you can salvage from a laptop besides the hard drive and RAM.

 

Don't think so, my monitor on here doesn't fit in it's plug-in.
