Banning reason and list.

Usually private? Aren't they usually for scamming? And you said your not going to publicize, but you didn't say anything about whats the harm in it or what are some negative reasons not to? You cant just ignore the supporters?

 

Yeah, I don't understand how it is ever private... Are they getting their penis removed in the process or something?

What in the world do you mean? We should have the right to know who got banned for what, for our protection against being scammed. You all should let all information of the pertaining scammed parties be released to us.

Give an example of a hypothetical ban reason that is private and can't be made public.

 

If you check the the RaSc section and see a mod close a report saying "Banned, thanks.", then you know their ban reason (and therefore, not private). However, if a user was not banned directly from a report, then it is private. If you really want to know, then ask that person. Just remember that banned users are usually a bad influence and not people you want to hang around with.

 

Argument still stands. If we can ask that user just as easily as you just said, why don't you make a public ban list?

Dude, you should stop playing stupid, we all know that you or either some who hacked your msn scammed some1 for 100$. But doesn't mean you have to go everywhere and keep telling that. People are still responsible for their msn.

 

so next to their name it should say Precaution Ban - MSN hacked.

 

That's an entirely contradicting statement because:

1. It being in the spam forum is just going to cause more drama and unwanted discussion anyways...

And 2. If reasons for bans were actually given out to the public then there would be less speculation about their bans, hence less discussion/drama.


However there are 2 solutions in my view to this problem:

1. Completely forbid any talk about bans to the public, about high ranking members. In other words, they were banned and that's all you need to know.

OR 2. Do the exact opposite, and give out full comprehensive reasons why these members were banned. And any other discussion about their bans would not be permitted.

I really dont see the point of your first suggestion and how it benefits anyone.

 

That would be an egotistical way to handle bans imo. No one here is so important that when they get banned, the reasons are so private that no one can find out.

There are only two reasons someone will get banned: breaking forum rules or requesting it, neither of which are anything private.

From there you would just get more specific as to what the person did.

 

What I'm trying to say is:

Go one way or the other; don't disclose reasons for bans AT ALL or disclose them and further discussion would NOT be permitted.

I say this because currently; some reasons for bans are given out while others are hidden from us.

Why not just make it so, your either going to tell us why their banned or completely forbid any speculation about bans etc.

 

If I were banned I wouldn't really want everyone to see why I was banned. If I wanted to I would tell them on msn, but I wouldn't want it to be there for the whole forum to see. I'm sorry to say it, but alot of people on sythe are extremely nosey. Why do you really need to know why someone is banned? If they are banned don't trade with them, and if its one of your friends just ask them on msn.

 

If its the case that someone requested a ban then it should say REQUESTED BAN...

If its not then don't tell us at all OR tell us and NO further discussion is ALLOWED.

This is a bad idea, although it would be interesting it truthfully is no ones business and would just be unnecessary work for the staff to compile a list.

 

Why exactly do you need to know why they are banned though? It is very unsafe to trade with banned users even if they weren't banned for scamming, because basically they have nothing to lose considering they have already lost there account.

 

So people know that the person has bad character (if they scammed) and not to trust them on any forum.

Why should someone keep a good reputation if they scammed?
