Always constantly disconnecting.

This is starting to really annoy me, I always have to get up and unplug and replug in my Modem and Router to get the internet working again. This used to happen on my older D-Link Router, but it's happening on my new Linksys Router as well. I've went and got a new Modem, and still, everything is the same, it keeps disconnecting, I've Reset the Router soo many times, and still randomly disconnecting. Sometimes I don't have to get up and unplug and replug in the Router and Modem, but usually I have to. Can anyone please help me, this is absolutely annoying.

I would recommend calling your internet service provider, then tell them you are having problems with your router.

I have a linksys router as well and when I called my ISP they called Linksys and we had a three way chat until the router was fixed. I was having trouble connecting my laptop wirelessly, but hey, this could be at least somewhere to start.

 

That's not exactly the problem, I connected my Modem to my computer, and it never disconnects.

Edit: So it can't be an Internet Service Provider problem.

I used to have this problem back before I had FIOS. I had a linksys router and it was so terrible we were resetting it all the time. We fixed it by getting a network extender. It basically put our current router on steroids. We were always constantly resetting it but when we got this it seemed to go away.

It also could be your wireless receiver. But that is a different issue.

 

I'm currently not on Wireless, even though I'm on my Laptop, I have it plugged into my Router directly through ethernet, so it's not really a wireless problem, it also disconnects on my desktop.

Well, as I said on another thread about internet problems ring up your provider. They know what the problem is and how to fix it.

 

I can't do that until the 20th of this month, but thanks, I'll give them a call then.
