The Value of A High Post Count

Both post count and donation status are important in determining how trustworthy someone is. If you spend a lot of time on sythe, it would be questionable to ruin it by scamming. In addition, if you donate $50, scamming any less than $50 would be a strange decision.

However, trustworthiness is not an exact science. Members with over 3,000 posts who have dedicated much of their lives to sythe may scam.

if I see a join date from 07-08 with a high post count, and maybe like a 10-15 dollar donation status I would consider them trusted, with of course vouches.

vouches a lot of times don't even mean anything...people abuse the vague-ness(word? lol) of vouches. if you do something minuscule, such as doing cook's assistant for free, they get a vouch saying "vouch for so and so, really quick transaction" or something. so this person has like 50 vouches, that took him about 4 days of doing random little odd jobs. you look at this guy and he has 50 vouches, he must be trusted, so you trust him with your lvl 125 with 159m, and he runs off with it, xfers the cash, whatever.

I think it matters somewhat (if a person with a very high post count scams he just wasted a good chunk of his life) but it shouldn't be a large factor to determine if someone is legit or not. Just my 2 cents

Most people just take a high post count as a sign of trust. I'm the same as you though, look when I joined and at my post count.

Exactly correct :), I just go around trying to help people on Sythe, I don't look at my post count at all, and it shouldn't matter to you either.

The Value of A High Post Count

I had an account that had a join date in 2006, and only ~75 posts. People turned me down lots because of my low posts, which I found stupid. Then my main got hacked, and I got mad at the scammer and got banned. Now I have to start all over, so I'm just gonna spend 2-3 months building post count, and vouches and see how things go. Even though I'm gonna have a join date of august 2010:(

I usually go for people with quite a large post count and good quality vouches from trusted users.

I don't care about quantity of vouches, just the main high trade ones with trusted users.

This is very true I did used to look at peoples post count and consider them Trust Worthy.

Thank you for bringing this up.

The Value of A High Post Count

to be honnest i dont get how people get their post counts up so quick. I log into sythe most days and yet i can find someone who joined in august with atleast 100 more posts than me they must just post anything in every topic they find.

I would say if i was do go on post count vs join date it would have to be a bit of both. someone who joins in 2005 with 15 posts really isnt that appealing to me im not too worried when they joined in this case they are basicly a scammer who could wait (mabey he made alot of accounts)

here is an example i cant say they are scammers but im guessing they may be in the future

    V A L D U X
    joined march 22nd 2009 0 post count

    v a m p o za
    joined december 1st 2005 0 post count

    v a r i n o
    joined july 12th 2007 0 post count

im guessing accounts like these could be sitting there waiting to build up time for scamming. post count could take them a short amount of time and if you were to go off join date and post count alone they would be effective scammers

I think most people should go off vouches but should also take the time to check some of them out first.

The Value of A High Post Count

Personally, I find that post count matters to the extent, Generally wont trade with any new users nor anyone with a low Post count not because they don't post, but you figure is it worth the time to stick around on a website months upon months posting, JUST so you can scam 1 or 2 people for $50+
Compared to someone with a recent join date with a low post count may be here to scam an easy account/gold/service what ever, that really shows what kind of person you are =\ and all honesty thats sad. :D but either way high post count or not be cautious.

But even if i wont trade with one, Ill still provide free botting for them :p because I don't lose anything

Yeah, if you have a relatively low post count, like i do, you won't be trusted as much as you are immediately thought of as a spammer or scammer so it's better to be active on the forums. But even then anyone could be a scammer even with a high post count.
