Vouches!

Suggesting that when you give some one or recieve a voucher, it must require your name or its should be invalid...

I have seen a few vouches just on random threads saying:

And then seen a few people using that same voucher...

I suggest if you want a valid voucher it should look like this:

This was obviously no one els can use it.

Whats stoping me from using this voucher and getting away with it? I havn't Broken any rules.

If this was posted on a Vouches thread.

This would be ok. as its as simple as seeing who owns the vouches thread.

Was posted on a random thread.

any one can use this is the person who posted this voucher owned the thread, any one may use it.

"YES SOME ONE ELS MAY USE THIS"
But now its against the rules "Fake Vouching"

It doesn't really matter, everyone will know who the poster is referring to. Not really rocket science, or necessary.

 

But whats stopping me from changing Solo to ConJacKed?

Anyone could do that...

 

If someone wanted to fake a vouch, I'm sure he'd be smart enough to edit the name part of it.

 

He meant that I could use a vouch given you you, but all it said were "vouch for this guy". People would check seeing it were an actual post, but didn't notice it was given to you.

 

Oh, I understand now. Thanks for clarifying it a bit more; now it's safe to say that I agree with your suggestion.

But that would be alot more abvious to fake vouching.

But when some one says:

Any one can use this voucher...

 

Well this is a good point but would make many of the people who have many vouches such as myself's vouches invalid.

 

The thing is though, if you quote it from the OP, then there is an arrow to click on that takes you to where the vouch was first posted. So, if someone were to try and take a vouch that said,

but it was on someone's thread that didn't belong to the person trying to steal the vouch, then you would be able to know.
Here's an example: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=869945 Go to this persons vouch thread, and there is an arrow by the person's name who vouched. If you click on it, it will take you to the OP, and you can tell if it is really his vouch or not.

 

Imo, no point, obvious who the vouches are for, and even if we changed this, vouches would still be fake-able.

 

I would think if there in your vouhes trhread it should be fine.

What I am talking about is random posts EG, Spam forum. People say:

Vouch this kids trusted. Not even saying whom its for, what stoping 4 or 5 people using that 1 vouch?

 

Nothing dude, but applying your suggestion or not, vouches will always be fakeable.

Which renders this suggestion useless.

Vouches are often given in a service thread, or an account-sales thread, and it will be given towards the OP, everyone knows that, and when you click it you can clearly see whether its faked or not.

 

Then you click the quote link, look for who is referring to and BINGO.

 

Even so, if someone is faking a vouch, what's stopping him from changing "Vouch for Skele" to "Vouch for Sindre"?

Hopefully users are smart enough to actually check the thread the vouch was found.

Yes you have; you're using someone else's vouch, which is also known as fake vouching.

 

You didn't change anything in your suggestion. Even if we include names, which should be our own decision, they can still be modified.

Pointless suggestion if you ask me.
