Range or Mage Hybrid?

Okay, So I'm working on an account that is basically a d claws pure 60/99/1 and want to hybrid it. I was wondering if I should range or mage hybrid, what level I should get in order to not raise my combat too much and the equipment to use.

I'm pretty sure if you got both mage and range to 99, you wouldn't level up, apart from HP. If you use a cannon for range, and splash/high alch for mage, you shouldn't level up, period. If you'd like my personal preference, I'd say get mage. Dragon Claws should be enough on their own to get good hits/knockouts. Besides, I'm assuming with claws, that you'd be rushing and trying to kill them as fast as possible. Mage counters runners, making it better overall, imo. You could level both if you wanted to, however.

 

if u wana be a pro pure get both if not i would get 99 range and mabe 82 mage for ice blitz. train range at experiments or with red chins and alch or make teleport tabs for mage

 

Well since claws' spec owns I'd go with mage. Would be fun freezing then rushing them.

 

Yep, I'd go mage, going range would be the worse option because you'll be D claw specing so there wouldn't be any need to range (imo) but with mage, you could barrage, and rush.

 

for the most effective hybriding, you need to use all 3 and tribrid. I understand when people are choosing between mage/range, and melee, but you really don't have to choose between mage or range, you can get both and stay the same cb level. I have racked up some really impressive mage/range xp without gaining any hp and therefore cb levels by joining a soul wars clan that gets 3 zeals every game, then cursing inside the game, and spending zeal on range. If you are not worried about the money, alch bronze arrows in the waiting room, just make sure you drop the coins before the next game is over, otherwise you won't get on a team fast enough.

Yeah, I apologize, I meant to put it in rs2 general, but I guess I chose the wrong topic regardless, thanks for the info guys, I definitely want 82 mage for blitz, anyone know what armor/robes to wear for a melee/mage brid?
