Hey I just jailbroke my IPhone and I was wondering, if it ever screwed up and I wanted to give it back to them to repair, how do I make sure they don't know I jailbroke it?

If you jaikbroke your iPhone with Jailbreakme.com 2.0, then you'd want the latest version, 9.21. I wouldn't recommend going any higher but in case Apple try to do anything to Jailbroken iPhones.

Do not download the latest version iTunes, Apple is always modyfing it to get rid of jailbreaks. The down side is that you can't download most of things in iTunes with 7.1. If you have wi-fi, download directly from your phone.

I don't think Apple have released a new iTunes version since Jailbreakme came out, so if he jailbroke with Jailbreakme he should be fine.

Please don't post if what you have to say isn't constructive and helpful to the original poster's concerns.

Currently the safest/easiest/fastest way to jailbreak is with the Dev-Team's website: www.jailbreakme.com.

Make sure after you install Cydia to backup your ECID and SHSH blobs using Saurik's server and running your own TSS server with TinyUmbrella.

When you open up Cydia, is there some writing there which then underneath has the option to click Yes or "No I hate jailbreaking" If so, click the "Yes" to do so.

What it does is allow you to downgrade your iPhone firmware. Apple have stopped allowing people to downgrade, so from now on if you accidentally upgrade to the new firmware and lose your jailbreak, you can go back to the firmware you had before and Re-jailbreak.

As far as I know, Apple will never be able to update the FW on your iPhone without your confirmation. This is because of changed features requires a new agreement or whatever.

It's at least that way with Sony and their PSP's, so I'm pretty sure it's the same way with iPhones.

K guys I've got a new problem. When I try and download jailbreakme, Safari crashes completely. :( Looks like this iPhone was a bad idea.

But wait a minute. I've never upgraded the firmware of the phone so it's still 3.01. Ugh so could anybody please please please compile a list on what exactly I need to do to undo my redsnow jailbreak and jailbreak with jailbreakme please? If possible, start with restoring the iPhone. Really sorry to trouble you guys like this :(

Upgrade to 4.01 normally via iTunes. It will remove your jailbreak and you will now be at stock 4.01 firmware. From there just jailbreak using www.jailbreakme.com.

err multiple people have warned me not to upgrade the firmware. Since I'm using an iPhone 3G, they all say I won't be able to jailbreak ever again.

    Is this true?

They probably don't know about the new jailbreak, jailbreakme.com. It supports iPhone 3G on firmware version 4.0.1. I know it works cause it jailbroke my iPod touch 2G.

Once again, you can always save your SHSH blobs with TinyUmbrella before you update your firmware. This allows you to revert to any firmware you have the SHSH blobs for.
