Sorry for acting like the police on your thread Necro, but please don't just post "Once a scammer, always a scammer", etc" on the thread. Give valid points for why or why not they deserve a second chance.

He admitted it himself, which shows he's honest and willing to change.

That's okay Brendan. I was about to say the same thing myself. Oh and another thing, this thread is not to request for the removal of TWCs. Please contact the staff directly for that.

I don't want to sound skeptical, but is there some quote/screenie of him doing so?

How would welcoming back countless scammers not be detrimental to the site? Unless they were pardoned by Sythe himself, I don't want them back in the community.

A man killes your whole family, rappies your sister ( if you have one) and killes everyone you know, and the choise for him to go to jail is on you... So you'll be like "Well.... everyone deserves a secound change, so let him go"

Because thats what it sounds like your saying. o_O

If the scammer did so BEFORE joining Sythe, then I don't think banning him is fair at all. A lot of famous scammers I've known regretted wasting their time on a site for a small pay day at the end, but the fact of the matter is simple, just because you gained some sort of reputation on this site does not give you the green light to do whatever you like. A good example of this was the BMTH scandal. Sure he regretted it, paid back all the members who scammed (except one) and was pleading to be market banned, TWC'ed, etc, but the standard has been set and that standard should be followed no matter what. I also don't feed into this "Sythe pardoned" shit. Three months ago nobody was saying it, now it seems to be the most used phrase on Sythe. I think it's just an excuse by some to say "Hey, we'll give this guy a second chance and we'll just say Sythe decided because nobody can fuck with him".

Okay, lets just say Sythe does allow people who have scammed before a second chance, what helps us determinate who's truly sorry and who's not? All the disputes would be exactly the same

"I'm so sorry, I won't do it again, I feel like a completely changed person and scamming is the LAST thing on my mind, I have apologised to the people I've scammed and PLEASE TRUST ME I'LL NEVER SCAM AGAIN".

Thus making any truth in the statement False, It'll make the apology and the Dispute worthless, because they'll all be pretty much automated, and how can you tell the difference between someone who just wants to be unbanned to scam again, and someone who genuinely feels they have changed for the good? Such evaluation cannot be made over the internet.

This thread is about scammers, not murder/rape ;)

OT: I never heard of Finn scamming? Why was he given a second chance and not anybody else?

If he phished before coming to Sythe, then IMO, yes he should. However, it's not my business. Contact a staff member or post in the dispute forum.

No, I think a scammer does not deserve a second chance, be it 50 cents or 500 dollars, be it a leecher, grand master, an admin, they still scammed. They should be banned and forgotten.

That would be the most ridicuilous thing you could possibly do, inviting those skums back into our community, it's so simple to spot a scammer out. It's just common sense on how not to be scammed.

My opinion YES they should be unbanned with a TWC but only if it was like under $10 or cuase you can re--pay that much easily.

If it was for alot then no, they cant be unbanned.

I don't believe in scammers getting a second chance, most scammers on here scam accounts which well could be worth up to $100 or more.

I think it really depends on the situation, and if there was any "real" story behind what happened. Even if it was out of revenge, two wrongs don't make a right but one wrong doesn't either. I think in some cases a unban, is okay as long the "scammer" pay's the victim back, and they get a perm TWC with a market ban. I don't believe a second chance to be allowed back in the market to be appropriate although if they win over the staff with their dispute who is to argue?

If they scam once then It's likely they will scam again. This will just give the scammers an option to come here and scam two people instead of one. Think if it was you that got scammed would you want him to get a second chance? I sure wouldn't.
