Taylor's Detailed Free Flipping Guide

Giving this guide away free becuase i had intentions of selling it, but realized alot of it was leaked, etc etc...so im just gonna give my guide out there to the public, rather then it just sit and rot...i hope you enjoy it, and it maked you money like it made me money.


Flipping is a term in merchanting which basically means “Buy for low, sell for high.” The grand exchange has limits as to how much of an item we can purchase every four hours. This guide will show you how to utilize the grand exchange to your full advantage so that you see steady profits coming in, upwards of 500k-4m per flip. In this guide I will show you what items to flip, how to find the buying/selling price of those items, and when the best time to flip is so that you can flip with minimum risk of an update.

How Flipping works!
Flipping an item requires very general knowledge of the Runescape economy. To explain how this process works we are going to use a scenario of how the whole process works. 20 people have each fished raw lobsters and want to get rid of them. So these 20 people go and put them in the grand exchange for minimum price. “johnathan1234” puts an offer in the grand exchange for 20k raw lobsters a little above minimum and they start selling. Jonathan then sticks them back in the Grand Exchange for a little above market price and they start slowly selling 4 hours later, earning him a nice little profit. This is just a general idea to show you how the whole process of flipping works. You will want to put in test prices to see where the items buy price will need to be at, which will be explained in great detail later on.



The GE Limits:

As stated above the Grand Exchange has a buying and selling limits per 4 hours to prevent price manipulation. If someone buys something through the GE, then he or she cannot sell it until 4 hours later. This time is 4 hours after the offer has been put in by the player, not 4 hours after the offer has been completed. So in other words if we buy 10 torag’s helms, we cannot sell them until 4 hours of when we put the “buy” offer in. On top of this we also cannot rebuy torags helms until 4 hours after we put them in the g.e to sell. So ideally we can only flip the same item 3 times a day ( 8 hours to buy/sell/rebuy x 3 =24hours).





One way to avoid the 4 hour limit is too buy 10k grimy herbs, and then clean them and sell them; this will avoid the 4 hour delay between buying/selling them and earn you a nice profit while you are waiting for your other items to flip. Avantoe and Toadflax should work pretty well with this method, aswell as ranarr and snapdragons.

Recommended items to flip:

There are several things to consider when debating as to which item you should flip. Generally the easier items to flip are the items which have a large quantity coming in everyday. Another rule of thumb I like to use is to think of items that are in high demand, and is always being used. An example would be like potions, food, bolts, all of those items are constantly being used and lost. I will give two lists, both of which are very effective but one is for people with 10m+ and the other is for people with 500k-9m.

Higher priced items:

Papaya tree seeds – Can make up to 2.8m per 1k
seeds.

Guthan’s helms – Can make 1m per 10 helms.

Ahrim’s robeskirt – 1.2m-1.5m per 10 skirts.

Clean/grimy avantoe – can make 1.5-2m per 10k.

Clean/grimy Irit – 1-2.5m per 10k.

Barrows sets – Depends on price.

Ranging potions – Up to 2m per 10k.

Prayer potions – Up to 4m per 10k potions.


Ps: I have had a lot of luck with potions as they seem to bring in a great profit and sell very quickly. Prayer potions are my favorite but other great ones are: Ranging potions, Sara brews, and Super restores.


Common Less expensive items:

Cooked shark
Cooked/Raw monkfish
Blood/Death/Astral runes
Oak Planks
Yew logs
Red Chins
Cannonballs

These less expensive items are relatively easy to flip because they are heavily traded from day to day. These items can also be used to powerflip while your flipping your more expensive items for even more profit. For some more ideas of cheaper items to flip follow these steps:

1. Go to runescape homepage
2. Hoover over “game guide” and click Grand Exchange
3. Above the “price drops” section click “view trade info”
4. This will show you a list of the “most traded”
5. By clicking more it will show you the “100 most traded items”


How to Find the Buying/Selling price:


This is the most important part of the guide, because without knowing your buying/selling price then you feel completely lost. Not to worry I will go step-by-step to show you the process of finding your buying and selling prices of the items you want to flip. Remember items will be flippable some days and other days not, but usually you find a few favorites and stick with them.

Typical buying prices of items :
if the item is 1k, buy for 20-40gp below the buying price.
If the item is 10k, buy for 200-300gp below the buying price.
If the item is 50k, buy for 1k to 1.5k below the Buying price.
If the item is 100k, buy for 1.5k-2.5k below the buying price.


Step 1: Pick your item and put an offer in for MAX in the GE.


As you can see when we put an offer in for max, we got 306gp back making it sell for middle (6,105 gp). This means that our selling price will be a few gp under mid. Open up notepad and write the item name down and the selling price so you don’t forget.



Step 2: Put a offer in for a few hundred gp under market…in this case I went with 150gp under.



These pots sold in roughly 2 minutes, which means I should try another 50gp under.



These potions did not sell very well after 7-8 minutes which means our buy price should be roughly 5950 gp each. You can choose to decrease by 10gp increments if u wish, but I got rather lazy.


Step 3: Once all of your supplies have bought put them in the Grand Exchange for the buy price which we found earlier. This was just a sample of 187 potions, but if I were to buy 10k potions at the price I bought for (5,950) Then I woulda have made a cool 1.5m profit for very little work. This profit could have easily reached 2m-4m if I were to put my offer in right after an update which I will show you how to do in the next section.



This picture is hard to see but I bought 187 prayer potions for 1.10m and sold 187 prayer potions for 1.14m, which was a 30k profit. Now times our 30,000 x 5 (200 x5 =1000 potions) = 150,000 profit per 1k potions. So if we bought 10k potions for our buying price, we would have made 1.5m.



How to maximize profit as well as safely flip:

The most efficient tool in terms of flipping is a simple website which is easily accessible, and predicts future updates.

As you can see this program tell you when the last update was and the time frame that another update will occur within. You can never predict when it will occur but this gives you a general idea of when it will next update. Above me, it shows that it updated 12 hours ago, meaning there is a relatively good chance it will update withi the next 8 or so hours.



Once the Grand Exchange has updated where it says “An update to occur within” is replace with “An update to not occur with” and it will be red. This is the best time to flip because you do not have to worry about the Grand Exchange updating and thus your item dropping in price on you, which can drastically lower your profit, or even create a loss.
