It seems that this judge made it legal yet again... From your title, it seems you're saying that he made gay marriage illegal.

Good for them. There shouldn't be laws regarding love and what not. If you love someone go for it.

Now I know Finn is going to respond to this in a furry of British intellect accusing me of being ignorant and stating his opinion as it were fact, but here are my two cents.

California is a liberal state, probably the most liberal state. Not unlike the domino theory from the Korean War, once California sets standards, other states will follow. A decade ago, gay marriage was taboo, an it wasn't ever feasible. Now, it's not uncommon to hear about people going to Massachusetts to get married.

The US government needs to decide right now weather it is nationally legal, or illegal. The gays aren't going to stop swarming the streets until it's either banned or allowed. There's no point in having some states allow it, and others not, because nothings stopping people from crossing state lines, getting married, then going back.

I also don't agree with gay marriage, but that's not the point of this thread.

I never knew gays were "swarming" the streets, I thought they only came out to show their support for their lack of civil rights, and not even in that large numbers. Even if it was banned people would still "swarm" into the streets, because they tend to do that when they are denied equal rights :)

Also why should the federal government be allowed to define wither a same sex couple is married or not when they file tax returns?
Um, considering that only 2 states recognize out of state marriages for homosexuals, I believe your statement is incorrect :)

    http://marriage.about.com/cs/samesexmarriage/a/samesex.htm (about 3/4ths through).

It indirectly deals with peoples views on homosexuality, and thus it holds some merit in this thread.Because without views like yours, this would not had approached a judge. Would you be willing to share your opinion on why you feel it is right for homosexuals to not be allowed to be married?

How is he trolling? Also same question as above, would you be willing to share your views on why you feel that homosexual couples should not be allowed the same rights as other couples?

They didn't allow Gay marriage California, they just overturned a ban. Which means It's possible for it to become legal now.

On the subject of Gay marriage, the government shouldn't have a say on who marries who. It's a private endeavor.

Not necessarily, California was very liberal in the first place and there was still so much controversy. It'll be a while before it'll be legal in all states.

It's a step forward though, although I heard that it's going to be appealed and make it all the way to the supreme court.
