What's the most expensive skill to level to 99?

It really depends on how you train the skills.

All skills can be free if you have like 1000 effigies.

 

Herblore. Construction only costs alot of you do the expensive shit.

Herb's about 20gp/xp at today's prices, which equates to about 300M. You can get prayer for about 250M, and con's like 100M at most, even less if you use SC hammers.

Summoning, assuming you burst for your charms.

 

Easily most expensive is firemaking or runecrafting, if you are totally nuts...

Prayer is most expensive I think. like 180m to 99 now-a-days

Runecrafting you make a huge profit and firemaking only costs 4-5m.

not sure about after that but if your getting your charms for summoning through slayer your not going to lose much training it..

You all forget that there are multiple ways of training skills. For example, the quickest way for 99 Construction could make you well over 1M exp/hour, but would cost around 1B to do.

Currently the most expensive skill to train normally (reasonable cost and exp) is probably Prayer, spending 25 coins/exp using Dragon Bones on a Gilded Altar, compared with around Construction, spending 16 coins/exp using Mahogany logs. Skills such as Herblore, Crafting, and possibly Smithing can be trained cheaper more easily.

 

How do you level prayer the cheapest way?

 

By far the most expensive way to get 99 would be construction. It can cost billions if you get exp by doing things like making gilded altar repeatedly. If you're just talking about efficiency and cost, herblore is like 400m to get 99 (25 gp/exp)

 

The most expensive skill, without a doubt is prayer.

With the rising cost of dragon bones (IMO cheapest way), it yields the highest price for 99 over any other skill.
