Need to be more Confident.

Hey, I'm Benjamin..

I really love singing, and my brother and mother are vocal coaches, and singing runs in my family. I am pretty good at it, but i am so nervous and inconfident when it comes to singing infront of big groups of people, even around 10 people.. How can i gain confidence do you think?

And, i will post a video of me singing a song i like, probably will be Ben by MJ, As i love that song.. Please if you have solutions help me? Thanks.

 

Well, when I've been in a few plays and had to sing (I'm terrible) in front of the entire school. Before the show, I relaxed, drank some water and just got my mind ready for the play.

And when you're singing, don't think about it too much (obviously you want to do good). Just be confident and know you will be great. And I'm really interested in listening to your song. :3

 

What i would do is to think of all the positive reasons. Might sound lame but..

If your singing in front of a large group then they're obviously there to listen to you! Most of them aren't critics or troll, they're there for you. Before the show relax and remember all the good things about your singing and try not to panic during the show. Also, you yourself said your a good singer, so looks like there is no reason to worry about sounding horrible.

If you get stage fright, then just look towards the back of the area your going to be performing in. It looks like your looking at the crowd but in reality your not. I know you didn't mention anything about stage fright but its a good technique.

Focus on one thing, preferably your parents who I'd expect to be there. Make yourself think your singing to them like at your own house.

 

think of it as a chance to show people what you got
i used to be on the volleyball team and everyone would get nervous towards the end of game especially when it's a close game. But that was the time I wanted to ball in my hand. If you really love singing, this should boost your confidence ^_^
