[HELP] Transparent Background Shows Up White! [HELP]

Hey, I made an orb (My current avatar), my first one, anyway the background is transparent on gimp, and I've saved it both as a Gif. file, and a Png. file, both show up with the orb and a white background, even though it is definitely transparent in gimp. Will anyone help?

I've tried pasting the Sythe background behind it in paint, but it made it look kinda rough.

All suggestions welcome, thanks in advance.

 

Your Avatar looks transparent to me. Or that might be the patchy paint job. And you should always save it as a .xcf if your using Gimp incase you need to go back and edit it. I have never really used GIMP but you can try re-saving it as a .png file with the correct settings because i know they give you different options.

 

I save two copies, one in .xcf to edit, the other to use. Ive tried the other options in .png, they were mentioned on another website, but no luck.

 

I'm having this same exact problem with my avatar.

 

Alot of people do, and no ones helping..lol
