I was just wondering if 'paid for stickies' have ever been considered?

Basically, give people the option to pay $ XX.XX to have their thread stickied for 'X' length of time.

The benefits would be if someone is selling a fairly high priced account/service and wants it advertised without having to bump it every 20 minutes.

Maybe there would have to be qualifications in order to buy this.

Not too sure, just a suggestion.

I'm not a fan of this. Someone would obviously buy a sticky, and the newcomers would look at the stickies, and would trust the trainer or whatever with their money. It could be turned into an easy scam.

    X amount of vouches.
    X join date.

The cost could be X % of the sale price of the item/service being sold.

    ---

All this to prevent scamming and keeping stuff legit.
Plus it could earn sythe some extra money that could be put towards server costs?

I think this is a pretty good idea, but keep it limited for the amount of stickies at once, otherwise there would be like a whole page of stickies

Yes because post count is essentially = trust?

Post count has never been and never will be = trust in anyones eyes.

I think this could work but I think we should start small allow only mods/omm's buy these stickies if it works well then we expand allow certain trusted members to buy them. If it doesn't work with omm's/mods then no harms done because I doubt they'd abuse it.
