I think should sythe should have their own APP

I think should sythe should have their own APP, read your title, does it make any sense? Many many people have suggested this, but creating a app can be hard, and if they do put the money/time towards it would they get an android app or a Ios app.

That's what we are donating for. So sythe could develop.

 

Doesn't really cost money to maintain, unless you're referring to apples $100/year developer membership, and it wouldn't be too hard to code.

I'll look into an android app. I don't have a cell phone but since the OS is open source, I don't have to pay anything to develop and test it.

i support this its easier to go on sythe when your gone on a trip or vacation you dont have to stop so there should be a app though it may cost alot of money thats why sythe would need money from you guys so they can make it.

I'm sorry, it costs $99 to become an Apple Developer. A year. And it costs A LOT of money for classes on how to code Objective C. It's not too simple of a programming language.

 

okay, the development tools are free and you contact saurik from cydia, have the app added there for FREE... and i dont want to learn how to code i could give a shit tbh. your probly not an iphone/droid owner anyways

 

It would of course be a nice addition. Remember that these things take not only money but time. I personally have no issues using Sythe on my iPod Touch.

 

OMFG. I was thinking this EXACT thing last night while fucking with my iTouch. This tripped me out when I saw this thread, because I was going to post a suggestion saying Sythe should have an APP! Hah, I definitely support, there have been so many times that I wish I could've checked Sythe on the go. I think there should at least be a beta version to see how many downloads it gets, and how it works. I'm not positive that it could actually happen, but I think it is a great idea.

Yes, and require the site to be ONLY used on the app! It makes so much sense now. You know, how large about 5 million devices is out of 100 million. Yeah. It's also too bad saurik doesn't even manage cydia apps.

No, silly goose. I don't own either of those. I own an iPod touch and an unlocked Evo. Just 'cause the iPhone is the one with the microphone, doesn't mean it's the only iOS running device that can run apps on it. I own an iPad too, I AM a developer. And by the way, the DROID isn't the only Android phone.

You can't do beta apps on the iPhone. Maybe if we downloaded it from the mobile site on an Android phone? Adding a link to the download for the app? To use it on the iPhone you have to go through the App Store.

 

Now I know And, you don't need to have a download link to know how many times the APP has been downloaded. When you put your own APP up for sale on the APP Store you have a section for APP's you have released, and how many times it has been downloaded to a device, or to an iTunes Library.

 

But, of course, we need to find an iPhone developer with a subscription in the iPhone dev program, willing to make the App. By the download link, down in the bottom left corner of the site is the theme changer. In the theme, "Mobile", we could have a download link to the Android version of the app, and a link to the App Store link to the iPhone app! Ideas!

 

Yeah, I'm not saying it's an easy task, for now I will just deal with using the mobile format. Sometimes though, I get stuck in it I recently found the thread that fixes it. I'm happy now

Honestly tho, you'd be better off just making the mobile skin for the site better. That way it works on every phone. I also doubt a sythe.org app would be accepted into the apple appstore, since I doubt everything posted on sythe complies with they're tos and whatnot.
