My back has been hurting lately.

Well, recently, my new computer shipped to my house. I unboxed it and to my surprise it didn't work. So I called tech support etc and they gave me a few tips.
So, while I was working on it, I had to bend my back in a really awkward position. And now - I can barely sit at my desk without a really sharp pain on the lower left side.

So, my question is; what can I do to relieve the pain? I've been doing some 5-10 minute stretching but it's only a temporary fix. Afterwards, the pain keeps coming back.

    Any suggestions?

I would suggest going to a chiropractor or some place like that because you could actually end up doing more damage unintentionally if you try and fix it your self.

P.S This happened to me and it sucked.

The stretching is good! I would keep stretching! But also have your back looked at! Maybe you twisted something while in that position.

My back has been hurting lately.

Yeah, I was in the same position for about 10-15 minutes (which really didn't help).

But I might consider seeing a chiropractor though. :\

make sure you don't stretch it too much in the wrong way. you might hurt it more...better to go to a specialist who will give you special stretches and stuff

Good Good Good decision! My friend's back was hurting with the same scenario and he went and saw the chiropractor not thinking it was something serious...But turned out he sprained his muscle back there... So definitely check it out man!

My back has been hurting lately.

You may have strained or pulled a muscle, have you tried icing it?

My back has been hurting lately.

Yeah, every time I'm done stretching, I ice it for about 5 more minutes.

My back has been hurting lately.

You should probably ice it for longer, if it continues to hurt then you should see a doctor or chiropractor.

My back has been hurting lately.

Don't do any more streching as it could result in damage to your back. Instead, see a doctor.

My back has been hurting lately.

Not big on any kind of medicine, but take some aleve or tylenol to help ease the pain.

My back has been hurting lately.

Yeah, I take Tylenol most of the time. But I'm going to see a chiropractor soon.

you should go to the chiropractor or doctor, they may have to give you a special thing to your back, my dad and my friends dad had to get it because a disk slid into a wierd position and the nerves wouldnt let it slide back so they put this numbing thing in to make the nerves sleep for a while when your back is healing itself

My back has been hurting lately.

    Ibueprofen works well.
    Icy hot.
    Could be a hernia...

See a chiropracter for long term fixes.

My back has been hurting lately.

If the pain is you upper back, towards your shoulder, and you know it isn't broken/fractured or anything. Stretch that way, my uncle is a chiropractor like person, It will help. But the best advice anyone can give, is SEE A CHYROPRACTOR. :p

My back has been hurting lately.

It's on the lowest left side, near my pelvic area. And I'm seriously considering to go see one! ^_^

My back has been hurting lately.

Wait a week or so, making sure you don't worsen it by running or playing sport. If you're young, generally these type of injuries go away quite quickly.

After that, you should consider going to your regular doctor who may refer you to a specialist.

My back has been hurting lately.

Get some cyclobenzaprine. It'll do you wonders. :D

I take it occasionally, it actually works.

My back has been hurting lately.

If my back hurts from football/basketball, I get my little brother (~100lbs) to step on my back and crack it.

    Feels better imo.
