The Value of A High Post Count

Many people here on sythe seem to value a users post count above many other things such as the date the person joined sythe or even vouches.

I am here to discuss the value of having a high post count. Should having 1000+ posts mean that you are more trustworthy or less likely to scam than someone with 50 posts?

I have been on sythe for 3 years now and still have a relatively low post count. I love reading threads and peoples posts but am not a fan of posting myself. I consider myself a trustworthy person and enjoy ''win-win'' situations in which the buyer and seller both get what they asked for. Considering this I have had people refuse to trade with me even with an MM due to my low post count.

Anyways what are YOUR thoughts on this matter?

Doesn't mean a damn thing. Never has and never will to all rational people.

For newcomers postcount is like trust level, for those who are not the first year into forum marketing, its like nothing :)

Who knows, most scammers say they are trustworthy, but we should believe you because you joined 3 years ago? (Not saying you're a scammer)

It's worth everything a member values it for, it has no set value itself.

Post count is about as valuable as a neo-nazi brazillian piss vid. So valuable around markets.

It can be beneficial at times in the market, but other than that it's whatever

Im not trying to prove that because i have been a member for 3 years that means I'm not a scammer (which I'm not :p). I am just saying that a person with over a year on sythe is less likely to scam than a person with 5 days and 150 posts. If I were a scammer i would of done it by now and been banned in theory.

for me it means nothing, someone with 1 post can be more trusthfull than someone with 5000 posts. scamming is just about how a person is i think. some people do everything for money so.

I look at Vouches, Post Count, Join Date before I let someone go first.... I would value 200 vouches over 2000 posts tbh...

    Post count = penis size.
    Nuff said.
On a serious note, I look at all the variables before trading.

Postcount is used to determine how active someone is and shouldn't be used to determine how trustworthy a user is, which is why we have vouches. Join date shouldn't be used to determine trustworthiness either.

I feel that I am trust-worthy. I joined about 4-5 days ago, aside from my low post count I have ''15 Vouchs'', ''2''of them vouchs are Mod vouchs.

But no I do not think count make you trusted in anyway at all. Absolutely none. Any leecher than gains 50-150 posts in 3 days is either a spam freak or obvious scammer. thats just my opinion

Anyone can scam. Whether they have 10 posts or 10000 posts, they can still scam. In fact, don't you think it would be more likely to scam with 1000 posts as you might get more money out of it?

Thats why you see so many new users banned, Spamming post count to make up for their lack of vouchs

Well, it depends. If you're going to trade someone and they have a high post count, I'd suggest sifting through some of their posts and figuring out whether or not these posts were from legitimate contributions to the site or from spam. If they are from the former, you have the knowledge that they have put considerable time into the forum and are part of the community, which does serve as at least some form of a token of trust.

Well the general consensus is that post count is not a big factor when determining the trustworthiness of another person. And I agree with this.
