Are PC Gamers Too Good for Console Gamers?

Yes, Pc gamers are generally better than console gamers. But guess what, console gamers dont have to go through the shit Pc gamers do, making me prefer my xbox 360 over my steam acc. ( Im a pretty serious TF2 player on steam ).

Cons of Pc ~
1: Tons of issues, computers fuck up easy, and since all computers are different, the chance of support working to make your game work like it should, are a fuck ton low.
2. Pc Gaming cost so much more its rediculouse. maybe someone spends 2 grand on a gaming pc, to play games they could play on an xbox, with the same graphics.
3. Pc gamers have to deal with aimbotters,wallhackers, ect. Thats bullshit.


Pros of Pc ~
1. For the most part, a better connection.
2. As said above, your going to be better at the games you play, but it wont make a shit for difference because your playing other PC gamers, and your mouse and keypad wont work for a console..
3. You get to enjoy custom maps, and modded servers for certain games, that xbox doesnt have custom content for. ( Ie: TF2 )
4. You get more updates/patches.

If you ask me, i will gladly cling to my xbox 360 although i have a gaming pc.

But, everyone has their opinions im sure.

Your criterion is extremely limited and your logic is extremely flawed.

Xbox 360s do not have equivalent video quality to PC. Isn't the lack of anti aliasing hard on your eyes? It makes me feel like I'm playing a Nintendo 64.

If you're talking about first person shooters on console, you could also mention the inclusion of aim correction, which effectively lowers the skill cap on console systems. Not saying someone can't be skilled at a console game, just the obvious logic that if something has the ability to be more precise, the skill cap is generally higher.

Longevity of system is a factor that should be considered. It's funny that you mention how easily computers fuck up in comparison to a RRoD360. Sure computers are always going to be more expensive than consoles, but most people don't just buy computers for video games. They have other uses (you're using one right now to access a forum on the internet), and a "2000 dollar" PC with proper use would last quite a while.

As far as a better connection is concerned, that doesn't really make any sense, as you are using the same internet with both platforms. Unless you are talking about the quality of servers, or the primarily console inclusion of peer to peer connections.

With the inclusion of console platforms that interact with the internet, the update/patch comment is pretty null, they both have the same equal opportunity for patching, so the PC has no benefit in that category.

Custom content and dedicated servers are one of the main benefits to the PC community, but DLC's seem to becoming pretty common with both types of platforms.

I will agree that cheating is more abundant and easier on the PC, but dedicated servers allow the creation of environments in which types of activities like that can be policed, and 3rd party anti-cheat software can be introduced.

What do you expect? It's so much easier to move a mouse or use a keyboard versus a controller.

Everything v3- said is true. Pc gamers dont pay more to play the same games on the same graphics. Pc gamers pay more to play BETTER games with BETTER visual effects. I play alot of Arma 2 which is a GREAT game with alot of custom content and this game is just not available on the consoles. Every game is getting worse and worse everytime it releases. just because the game makers want it to be running on the consoles. They have to reduce the game so much that its just not fun anymore. Look at battlefield 2 or vietnam. We had a wide variety of vehicles and the maps were HUGE. Now bad company 2 which is a console port has just such a small maps and barely any vehicles. And about the cheating? I dont necessary think more people on the PC cheat, because when I see on the Xbox I see alot of cheaters to. I actually think that Pc is doing great with their anti cheat systems like VAC, Battleeye and punkbuster and ofcourse alot more. And yeah beside gaming you can do alot more on a PC then on a xbox.

I'm a guy who heres people constantly saying PC gamers are better, and Console gamers are for scrubs.

PC:
Good:
Mouse/keyboard
Good PC (If you spend a few thousand)

Bad:
Lag
So many different PC's, games can't be made to suit it 100%.
Constant updates in software, more cash.

Console gaming:"
All the same
Same graphics
Controller (So what, we all live with it)
No Aimbots, hacks etc.

there are lots of more good things about a PC like custom content and more possibilities for games. And lagg on the PC? what you mean? FPS lagg or internet lagg? If you have a normal computer you can just adjust the settings to eleminate the lagg.... And internet lagg? Consoles have more internet lagg then PC's.

And no hacking on consoles? yeah right... in your dreams maybe. the anti cheat system on the consoles are just crap if there are any.

 

Okay, I'm going to skip the fact that you used a compare and contrast format for one platform and a list for the other and just jump right into the content.

 

Oh and BTW DLC are mostly free on the PC like on BC2 and TF2, while you have to pay for them on the Xbox. This is mainly because of the fact that PC gamers already have loads of custom player made maps.

So PC wins.

 

PC is better but costs more. Thats because PC requires you to upgrade all the time and you have to buy top quality in PC parts if you want to get the best quality out of your games. Soemtimes PC is actually better than the Xbox 360! (In my friend's case who bought an Alienware laptop and I bought his Xbox 360 off of him). So yeah, once you become a major PC gamer most people don't go back. Some people are PC gamers just like RuneScape or Wow and then they also play Xbox 360 for certain games, but most major PC Gamers (such as my friend that I mentioned earlier) will not play console once they get used to playing with Keyboard and mouse.

 

Yeah, Depending on your Processor speed / RAM / Graphics card... You could have the ultimate computer that even PS3 Would'nt beat...

 

PS3's and Xbox 360's don't even have good hardware. These are 5 year old platforms you are talking about. Do you really think the technology they put in these things 5 years ago is even going to compete with a budget PC these days?

 

I think pc gaming is better but for some reason I use my xbox more.. :s

PC gaming is without a doubt much, much better.

Not only are the controls better, you can customize nearly anything, a lot of the time you get the DLC for free you'd have to pay tons of cash for on the console.

I have never found anyone with a compelling argument as to why a console's better than a PC.

I facepalmed at this. Gaming PCs are like a long term investment and can be used to do multiple tasks. There are some PC exclusive games like Crysis, Arma II, etc which you cannot hope to run on a console. On the other hand, any console exclusive game can be run on a PC should the developers make a PC version for it.

And may I add that these few dollars soon add up to hundreds of dollars, wasted on what? DLCs. Whereas, you could spend those cash on a decent PC.
