Stellar Dawn AKA Mechscape leaked trailer + official signup

Jagex's next unreleased MMO, Stellar Dawn (previously named Mechscape) is scheduled for release sometime soon according to their official website, http://www.stellardawn.com/. Their website shows a few images, which are all artwork and there are no actual gameplay videos posted.

A few months ago a leaked trailer was found and uploaded to a Chinese media sharing website called YouKu where it is safe from Jagex copyright claims. You can watch their trailer at this link: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTQzMzgzMzI0.html

The YouKu website may be blocked by your ISP or not load properly for you. I am attempting to download the video and give a public download link at this moment. EDIT: Nevermind video hosting websites reject the clip because it's copyrighted.

In all honesty judging by the trailer this looks really fun. It's definitely made by Jagex if you look at the models, maps, ect. I just want to spread awareness of whats coming soon!

From my perspective, what I saw in the video screamed this:

RUNESCAPE 3!!! NEW NAME!!! SAME GRAPHICS! EVEN MORE CLICKING!

It says Mechscape. The game is Stellar Dawn.

On October 23, 2009, "Plexus," a Jagex staff member, announced on the MechScape World forums that MechScape development was discontinued, and much of the existing work would be transferred to a replacement project titled Stellar Dawn. Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard confirmed this six days later, stating that the project neared completion when Jagex decided that it wasn't the sort of game they would be proud of. They determined to rework the gameplay based on the original game design, but will utilise the original game engine designed for MechScape. As it says, they would rework the game. So the game I'm guessing is going to look completely different other than the engine.

 

Is this a joke or what?
It has the exact same crappy fail graphics as Runescape.
The only difference is that Runescape is old age and Stellardawn future >_>

This looks absolutely awful! The graphics are the exact same.. game play looks WORSE, and new setting doesn't excite me at all! "Navigate ships in space" looks like a little kid drew a space ship and pretended to roughly navigate it..all this piece of crap is missing is the "shoo shoo" sounds as the space craft is moving. Will stick to runescape.

 

Well this is mechscape not stellar dawn. There's a reason jagex wasn't happy with mechscape and canned it. I'd expect stellar dawn to look and play alot different this this since they started basicly from scratch.

In the clip it clearly said "Mechscape" not stellar dawn. If you want sources that state mechscape was cancelled then do a google search, there are plenty of posts about it.

As for this clip, I'm glad they ended up cancelling mechscape. I've never seen a lamer game, that trailer looked SO BORING.

 

You're a idiot. I don't need a source when it's a well known fact that mechscape was cancelled.
