I find it odd that...

So many people say they hate Jagex and Runescape on here. They just flat out bash Jagex and Runescape saying its stupid and worthless and that they suck. Well I wonder why the hell they bother playing the game then... If you hate the game and the company so much, go do something else and quit bitchin. It's like, sometimes I'll be playing Runescape and people just stand around for hours saying how much they hate Runescape. Why would you just stand around on Runescape to say how much you hate it? Go play your x-box if you can't stand RS so much. Same with these forums. If you hate RS, get off the RS section of Sythe. Some of you people that hate RS so much are probably the morons that go on youtube and watch RS videos and then comment on how much you hate RS. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, GTFO THE RS VIDEOS. I just don't freggin understand why people have anything to do with it if they hate it so much. It's like eating a plate of food and the entire time you are eating it, you bitch about how much you hate the food. And whats worse is there is an endless amount of other plates of different foods you do like but you choose to keep eating the food you supposedly hate.
I am a "veteran" of Runescape. I been playing since RS Classic. So don't say that I'm a noob and that's why I like the game.
You can't honestly say that EVERYTHING about Runescape sucks. If you can, then you should probably go kill yourself since you try too hard to hate something that really isn't all that bad. I'm not gonna say that RS has nothing wrong with it. Yeah they make a bad update sometimes and yeah they ruin some things but no one is perfect. They have had a lot of good updates that no one ever talks about or makes real discussions about. Someone on another thread told me that RS and Jagex suck and that they have no good things and that I should list all the good updates in the last 3 years. I think I got a good amount. I can't remember everything but its a rather decent list. Anything missing?

-The new mage spells look bad ass.
-The spell book pictures in the menu look a lot better.
-Dragons look cooler.
-The particles make game play look a lot better.
-They made it so when your person is running, they don't run the wrong direction
or "glitch" back and forth if you keep clicking on the mini map.
-The new quest's (not gonna list all of them) are all really good(my opinion).
-The new prayers are amazing (I love turmoil).
-I love some of the new songs they have in different areas.
-A good bit of people like the new dungeoneering skill(I'm not a fan but the
rewards are awesome).
-High definition is just amazing to play with.
-They also made it so you can customize your settings so that helps if your
computer is crappy.
-You can buy Runescape cards in a sht ton of places now.
-Soul wars is a really fun game(my opinion, and a lot of others too).
-The new resource dungeons throughout Runescape helps.
-Making herblore actually useful was nice with making overloads/extremes.
-The new HP system is kinda nice(my opinion). It is true that when your a
low level, its funner to hit actual numbers then a sht ton of 0's.
-The new display names are cool.
-They try to make botting more difficult(I'm not a botter).
-They try to make merching more difficult(I'm not a mercher).
-The "new" spirit shields are sooooo awesome.
-Now when you try to drop expensive items, you get a warning.
-They made pvp worlds(I like pvp worlds)
-They try to stop the 76king tricks which were pouring money into the
economy.
-They at least try to bring back pvping after taking away the wildy in the first
place. They could have just kept pvp out of the game.
-More agility training area's/extended.
-The resting stops throughout Runescape to make run energy go up faster.
-It now shows the number of people in your friends and ignore list.

 

This has been said and discussed before.

It's pretty simple really, most people (including myself) dislike Jagex because of their absolutely terrible customer support. They update their game without any feedback from the players. The people that you hear "bitching" all the time are RS veterans. I highly doubt you played back in 04.

I don't like Jagex. I don't like what RuneScape has become. Should I get the fuck out of the RuneScape section here?

Lol, I been playing Runescape since RS classic. I guess I'm just better at adapting to change. Yeah, they don't listen to feedback all the time or much but still. Lots of people still play the game so they must be doing something right. Try focusing on the good more then the bad. Are you one of the people that run around complaining about how much you hate what your taking part in? If you are, then yes, you should just leave and let people that actually enjoy the game continue to enjoy the game.

 

Yea honestly I have been playing since 2003 on the same account on and off. I'd quit every year for like 4 months and every time I come back it gets better and better.

Yea they took away wildy.
Yea they made it harder to rwt.
Yea the whole economy is ruined.
Yea they made a mini-game into a skill.

But when its all said and done, I still come back each year to get up my levels.

 

If your going to be one of those whiners that hes talking about, then yes; with all respect gtfo.

I don't feel like going through my specific argument again, but my main point was don't fix what doesn't need changing. A lot of people grew to love RuneScape the way it was. A huge portion of the veteran players have quit, the reason the game is still going strong is because of the influx of newer players who never knew the difference. I'm not saying there isn't still a group of loyal veterans (such as yourself), but we have reason to complain.

You can't disregard our opinion just because you love the game right now. We have both the right and the motivation to complain if we want to. Use your ignore list in-game, turn public off, take it upon yourself to stop listening to us.

Point taken. I'm merely talking about the people that go out of their way or take time out of their day to hate on RS or Jagex and try their best to make sure everyone and anyone knows how much they hate it. Yeah I fell in love with the game back then. But I also understand that games have to change to keep up interest. If they never changed anything and never put any new content in the game, we'd still have like 20 quests, a tiny world map, and no new fun activities. If Halo was always the same and never anything different with no online play, you'd get tired of it quickly.

 

Saying "The add some good, they add some bad" Just doesn't cut it. They took away the Wilderness, which was what the majority of Runescape players played it for. And gave us.... Wait for it.... Better graphics!

 

It depends on the reason you hate Jagex. I dislike Jagex for removing wildy, removing rwt, and making every hit x10, like if you hit a 9 it is a 90. Like Farcast said, I don't like that they make updates without even consulting the community.

 

who the fuck cares about graphics unless it's related to the gameplay. Super mario all stars is probably my favorite game ever (i'll count it as one game ).

crysis wouldn't be good without graphics, but I still and always will play rs on low detail.

 

They completely disregard their customers, blatently continuing to "update" the game with pointless or bad updates. If there were a poll of some sort regarding the 3 major updates (wilderness, trading and staking) I'm positive the majority of players would of been outraged at even the idea of doing any of the updates. But no there wasn't a poll and to the players' disregard continued without layers input.

 

Ok yeah, they took away the wildy. But they try to make up for it with pvp worlds and bh worlds. But you know why they got rid of it in the first place? I'm not 100% sure or whatever but I heard many people saying back then, it was due to sooo many people whining about getting killed and loosing stuff. So they took it away and when people complained, they gave us a version of it. They got rid of the free trading because RWT was ruining the point of the game. People were corrupting the idea of the game with RWT and botting. Yeah, if they did a poll, many would say no. Jagex took the initiative to fix what they thought was pissing a lot of people off or things that were ruining their game. But in the end, the game is still playable and has its perks. There is still fun to be had.

 

I've noticed most complaints are about them removing the wildy. That was forever ago and we have new versions of that these days anyways. And then a bunch of others are complaining that Jagex is making it so that people can't cheat as easily by doing RWT and botting. I seriously laughed when people said they were quitting because of the HP update. You seriously can't play a game because you can't do extremely simple math? Yeah, HP wasn't "broken" but still. It happened. Just divide your hits by 10 and get over it lol.

So are you saying you hate the GE? So does that mean you never use the GE? So you've never had any kind of conveniences using the GE like when your about to do a quest and need a bunch of random items. Do you go out and get all the items yourself? Do you only do person to person trading for anything and everything? If so, then lol. You are one stubborn person. And also, they try to fix the merching problem of people messing up the economy by putting limits on amount of items.

 

How did they take the initiative to fix anything? Yeah they gave us bounty hunter worlds, which was OK for the first few months until they basically ruined the whole concept of PKing by removing the loot you should of got and replacing it with absolute shit. People who PK'd did it for other peoples loot, not the small chance to get maybe 5mil loot when their opponant was wearing 30-40mils worth of items.

So what if botting and RWTing is ruining the point of the game, the game is already beyond repair now anyway due to the bullshit updates from Jagex. How else do you expect to make money? Pking? No, Jagex fucked that up too, remember? Merching? No the Grand Exchange took care of merching properly; I know it's possible but you make shit profits and have to sell items by the hour rather than instantly in W2 or wherever.

And by fun you meen countless hours training say, hunter? Completing quests? People only complete quests either to get the cape or due to needing requirements to get into areas/armour eg. dragon sq. shields. Not to mention the ruined economy, prices being raised and lowered whenever merch clans try to make some quick profit, that aspect of merching ruins it for all of us.

I agree that there have been some good updates, I'm on the fence about display names; on one hand I got the chance to get myself some great names, but on the other hand it ruins the motive of rare name sellers whos' sole intentions were to sell their names; they won't be getting much money for their rare names now due a lot of people already owning them.

 

How was my post immature? I was simply implying that if your going to whine/wank about the game all the damn time, but yet stay up to 4 in the morning training thieving or some shit, then why play?

Its like you people have nothing better to do. You would rather enjoy the game you actually like, but yet at the same time you want to bash the hell out of it. it's like antiviral programs, they'll always be behind the viruses. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY for them to stop RWT. They have ruined the game trying.

have your cake and eat it too? when you're paying for that cake you EXPECT to eat it. Especially when you're dishing out 50+ dollars a year rather than a one time fee.
