    WoW is an awesome game.

Hell, i'd even be able to sell you an account.

But yea, runescape is a click fest. WoW is a game. You will be surprised by the vast difference.

You can still tell it's an RPG in the sense that you have inventories, skills, etc..but there's also gameplay to it that isn't click and wait.

WOW is 100x better indeed in the fact u dont click 2 billion times a day and u can actually view your charcter and control him with the keyboard, AND! it uses less cpu then Runescape and doesnt lag as much which is another awesome factor.

In order to play the full game, you need to buy all the CDs.

The first CD you'll need is the original World of Warcraft. If you buy this, you can play from level 1 all the way till 60. It also gives you a free month to play.($20)

The second CD is The Burning Crusade. This will allow you to level from 60-70. You also get two new playable races (Alliance is a Draenei, Horde is a Blood Elf)($30)

Finally, the last CD is Wrath of the Lich King. With this one, you can level from 70-80. This will also allow you to make the new hero class, a Death Knight.($40)

Of course buying each CD also unlocks a lot of new content too.

I recommend buying the 'Battle Chest'. It gives you the first 2 CDs for $10 less, and gives some guides (which are a bit outdated).

Also, you will have to pay $15 a month to play.

And I also doing the 'Recruit a Friend' option. It will make your life a lot easier, as there will be someone to help you (unless the person that recruited you is a dumbass). You will also be able to level 3x faster then normal, and you have the option to summon your friend where ever you are (or vice versa) which is helpful.

You could probably get a fresh level 80, will have all expansions or start youself which cost like $70-80 with your first 2 months of membership.

I'd suggest making a trial account. WoW isn't for everyone. Plus the satisfaction of having an 80 just isn't the same if you never rolled a character yourself. I'd suggest buying your own account and Honorbuddy, because if you're like me the leveling simply gets too old too fast. It's a fun game, but grinding through 80 levels makes you lose interest.

Also, roll a horde character if you're interested in PvP. I've heard arguments over this, but from what I've seen, horde players tend to be far more into the PvP aspect of the game vs. the alliance characters that tend to do more raiding.

Id suggest you choose a pvp server, once you get too 80, if your not on a pvp server, im sure you'll regret it.

Yup you may get ganked while leveling, lifes a bitch, thats why once you hit 80 you can do that :)

Rolling is just another way of saying "making a character". I don't know why they call it rolling, they just do.

You have to buy the CD for $20 and then pay monthly and the other expansions are for when you get to level 60 and 70 so if you like the game by the time you get to those levels then you should buy those expansions but for now don't buy them yet. And make your account using the 10 day trial and see if anyone can recruit you to play so you get bonuses that level you fast as fuck.

If you like to PvP, choose the bloodlust battlegroup.
A battlegroup is a group of realms that pvp together.
When you do a battleground(PvPing), you get to fight against people from your own battlegroup.
If you want to start the game, you'd need to buy a $20 cd.
When you hit level 60, you'd need to buy another $20 cd.
And finally, when you hit 70, you'll need to buy a $40 cd.

WoW is vastly different from runescape.
It's a lot harder to explain, so if you want to, just use a 10 day free trial.
Trials don't get as much as paid characters (Can't trade, can't invite to party)

I wouldn't wait for Cataclysm, now is the last chance for you to experience the original layout of WoW. It's going to be completely re-done in Cataclysm.

And I don't think at this rate GW2 will ever come out, and when it does, for their sake let's hope it's nothing like Aion.

If you want to start playing WoW there are a few things you should know..

    1) The PvP scene is anything but competitive.
    a) If you PvP you'll embark upon the most idiotic, annoying and ridiculous (Bad) people more than any other bracket of the game.
    b) The PvP is stupid unbalanced and there are hardly any intentions on fixing them until next expansion, and in the expansion the current PvP focus (Arena) is going to be shifted to Battlegrounds (Less serious, large scale battles).

    2) The PvE (Raiding, dungeons) is easy and monotonous. Apart from extremely high end raiding, it's a complete joke.

    3) Leveling is great the first time around, the second time not so much.

    4) Addicting

    5) Since raiding is a joke, casual play is encouraged. This can be good or bad.
    a) Good if you don't feel like devoting too much time
    b) Bad if you believe casual players shouldn't be entitled to as much progression as hardcore players

-- All this can change in Cataclysm (Nearing expansion) but I'm not putting too much hope into it.

I hate people who say PvP is unbalanced. You listen to the QQ scene around the WoW nerdfest(aka forums.worldofwarcraft.com) too much.

For anyone who wants to listen to logical discussion, all classes can do fairly well in PVP. It's all situational and skill / gear dependent.

For example, people who lose will frequently go cry about it to tons of people and those people will believe that class x sucks.

Don't believe me? Check out the class forums on WoW official.

You'll see that every class is apparently broken and can't lift a finger in PvP.

Do the 10 day trial before you spend any money on it, seriously.

I never would've played the game if I did that 10 day trial and that's it.

Seriously, 1-20 is like the worst part of the game.

it took me like an hour and a half to get from 1-10, so i don't really see how 1-20 would be the worst part of the game
