Here are some examples of posts that don't contribute with the forum. These posts have no bad intentions (they are welcomes, congrats, wishing good luck), so we should either remove the Spam Rule, remove the postcount (useless) or make post count not to increase in these forums. I'm not really sure what would be the best solution but I really think this rule needs some reforming.

 

I can get on board with the UE one. But the rest, just no. If we don't allow "Grats" then what do you want us to write? A whole paragraph expressing our love for the member that got promoted?
Bitch about how we didn't get it instead? Calling the staff stupid for picking a dumbass?

And on the OMM app, what else is there to write besides wishing them good luck, supporting their app and vouching them?

 

If a mod notices someone is going through every omm app saying "vouch", infractions are in order. Otherwise, I believe these are fine.

 

Its not so much that saying vouch or gratz is a bad thing but truely congratulate them or tell them why they deserve the vouch/position. Plain terms like vouch or gratz are meaningless without an explanation

It's not needed to reform the spam rule.
I think it's fine as is.

 

Vouches I'm a OMM application is not the same as vouches elsewhere. A OMM application needs supporters, it's one of the requirements. A user will be punished if they vouched for a OMM application and the member applying turns out scamming.
For your suggestions, I think all is fine as they are, pretty much what necro said + the above.

 

How about the introduces section with "Welcome"?

I don't think your postcount increases in the introduction/farewell section.

If post count does not matter, then why worry about removing it, or even bothering limiting it?

Intelligent members know that it only serves to show how active a person is, and does not alter a person's trustability.

 

Intro forum you don't get post count.

OMM forum vouches mean a lot. To have more vouches on your OMM app and more people supporting it is good.

UE app if you have tons of supporters and you've helped people out, they will be supporting you.

 

Someone can vouch in a OMM application even without trading with them...just to gain postcount.

 

Unless they're going through every thread they can possibly find and posting those things, it's not a problem.

 

I can see how the OMM application vouches could get annoying, but it's a very good thing simply because it's showing support for your application, not just "oh hey, thanks".

Usually I'd write a long, rational response as to why your suggestion isn't really meaningful. Today I'm tired so I'll just say: no one cares about petty little issues like this one. If someone wants to post 'gratz' to someone being promoted, for example, so be it. Spread the joy.
