Thoughts for the next expansion (After Cata)

I thought it'd be interesting to hear some ideas from others about what they think would be a cool addition to WoW (New classes/races etc.).

For now I have two things:
1) The Emerald Dream. It's been a long time since we found out that the portals behind the giant dragons were more than just scenery. I think it's time for them to finally complete this part of the story. They've had portions of the Emerald Dream hidden in the game for a very long time, so it's obvious it's something that they plan (or planned) on making a reality.

2) Naga as a playable class. Even in Warcraft III I thought that the Naga should be a race. I think it'd just be pretty neat to play as one. I don't know how they'd support this with lore, but then again I'm not one to concern myself with such matters. They seem like more of a horde race to me, which would work out for me (faction changing to Trolls soon). I haven't really thought of the alliance counterpart for it yet.

 

I'm assuming it's going to be none of these.

Maybe the Emerald Dream.

 

Emerald Dream is the most likely. It's been rumoured for a very long time and there's a lot they could do with the current world (like the portals and shit, wtf are they) to open it up to a new expansion. Not sure what's gonna happen with the portals and dragons in Cataclysm though

I think catalyscm's release will be more interesting than ANY expansion or anything that's happened in WoW so far though. I don't forsee any new expansions being better than what cata is promising, not for a while anyways.

I'm only playing now because of cata.

 

Cata is the only reason I'm playing again right now too. I'll have my priest at level 80 by the time it's released for sure.

 

Yeah, I'm doing the same thing. I decided to roll a Death Knight alt finally. I was sick of going into raids and being killed in one hit, so maybe he'll be a tank just to switch things up. It'd really be nice if by some chance either in Cataclysm or the following expansion they allow Rogues to wear mail. I've always thought they should.

Yeah, it could be. I don't think Centaurs would be all that interesting to play as honestly, but I guess that'd just be payback for this expansion (Alliance got the cool race). I actually just thought of another neat race, Sporelings.

Found this on WoWWiki: They [sporelings] also suffered from the recent aggressive activities of the naga under the command of Lady Vashj, as they have found little to no use for these small and mostly harmless creatures for slaves. The naga have started to exterminate them, and drove them off from their territory.

That would make them a good counterpart, in the same way the blood elves were attacking and enslaving the Draenei.

 

I'm not sure if you're allowed to bump things that aren't in the market... so if I'm not, just lock the thread. I am just hoping to see some more responses since this is a pretty interesting topic to hear people's input on.

 

There's some ideas for a new class;

A monk that uses Fist Weapons and has healing/ress abilities etc.
A ranger that heals him/herself every shot he/she uses.

Personally I would prefer the monk :\

Emerald dream would be sweet..I recently quit wow but might come back for a bit to try cata.

 

I'd prefer they keep the races as they're going to be with Cata, it's hard enough deciding on a new alt and usually I just end up going with Orcs due to lore. Looking forward to being one of three people rolling goblins while all the kids rush off to alliance to re-live their twilight fetish's though. As for the next expansion, not even on my mind. I'm pissed off enough that I really can't gear my shaman for endgame, because I'll have to replace 10.5 with greens the day after release.

This is the thing that pisses me most about cataclysm. Yes, worgens have been around for quiet sometime such as in SFK, Darkshire, and such. But it seems when twilight came out it kinda sparked this being a race and me myself i hate Twilight as an utter passion. the reason i went back to horde is because i wont be able to bear all of the worgens running around, does not really fit in with the alliance.

althought i will not play them, i will be making a worgen, along with the goblins, gnomes, and trolls to do the new starting areas

 

I hope and pray that I'll have the spare change to switch my toons to Horde by the time Cataclysm comes out. I'm SO TIRED of Alliance. In the words of Cynicalbrit (if anyone else watches that), the alliance is mostly human players who are ~12 and/or talk only about "lifting weights irl".

Hoping to change my two 80 toons to Troll, or at the very least my main. 30$ seems like a lot for a faction change, but whatever. It will hopefully pay off.

On topic: I was thinking about it further, and I bet in the Emerald Dream we will (assuming this expansion one day releases) see Dragonflight-related races; possibly High Elves as well. I don't know much about lore, but I do know that the Dragons protected some type of power and that the High Elves got greedy and consumed a lot of the power, which is why their magic is so strong. It would make sense, at least according to my limited knowledge of the lore.

 

One word. Pandaren.

For a new heroclass i think a blademaster or spellbreaker would be cool.

Well the Emerald Dream is my favorite part of the lore, mostly because it's the one of the few parts I bothered to read about. The Emerald Dream is actually already partially made.
