Frost mage Talent build

Hey, I'm new to WoW, and I have no idea what to spend my talents on. (Level 31 atm) I'm leveling doing quests/instances with my RaF partner.

Also, any other general tips about WoW/Mages will be greatly appriciated!

 

I have leveled mages before, I know alot of people prefer fire, but I love Frost. Blizzard is my favorite spell in all of WoW, and you can be frost to use that to your advantage. PvE and doing instances are totally different in this regard.

>>If you are mainly questing and your partner is a tank, be fire
>> If you are mainly running dungeons, be fire.

Well, my partner is a shaman. And when I say that we do instances we usually get boosted so I don't really do anything

Okay man. I assume your partner is enhancement or ele. So, go frost. If hes resto go fire. And by the way man, if youre partner had gone pally or Mage, you guys coulda AoEd the fuck outta things lol

Just quickly whipped this up. For major glyphs you'll want glyph of evocation, and glyph of eternal water.

Go ahead and ignore this spec. it's really really bad.

really? Its speciallized for AoEing, if thats why it seems bad.

If it was specialized for AoE'ing you'd want 3/3 ice floes for reduced cd of frost nova and cone of cold. You really don't need 3/3 precision until 80, and you picked up frost channeling before shatter.

He's also said he's questing, and you can't aoe grind every quest.

 

Basically until level 64 you should be speced in fire for the highest DPS however at 64 you should change to arcane as arcane blast will almost double your DPS if not completely. If you get a gearscore of above 6k at level 80 you should swap back to fire for the highest DPS.

 

Fire..meh.

Ik it's because of my gear, but fire drains too much mana and I'll constantly have to take mana breaks. That's why I switched to frost.

 

Frost is by a massive longshot better to use for leveling than anything until at least level 70, and even then it is still better.

Also, pickup a few 1 target talents but focus on AOE. You can get soooo much xp and finish quests like a madman as frost.
