This post is just a heads up for some of you botters (this is taken from my post on rsbots btw, so the topic was originally geared towards the users over there).

If this is like the graphics update last year, botting will be put to a halt for a week to perhaps a month (full functionality). I believe last year when Rs updated its graphics/game engine with the new HD almost all randoms and scripts were broken for awhile. This year, this graphics update seems like it will affect us even more, since the problem lies in mode we bot in, "safe mode". Anyways, this is just a heads up, obviously I'm not a programmer or developer so I wouldn't know for sure. Though, this update (when released in a few days) might affect us for a while, and seeing how many of you spaz out when reflection is down for a couple hours, this may be 10x worse.

 

It's not a big deal really. If the people that bot freak out over the bots being down for a few weeks at most then they really need to get their life in order.

It's also up to them to help the Devs fix whatever is wrong by giving them accounts that are stuck in randoms, and not flipping shit when the bot is down for over an hour.. Doing those two things helps out and gets things done faster.

 

I wouldn't really care if they went down. I'd just play legit 4-5 hours a day until the bots are back up. Hopefully it doesn't happen, though.

 

I've done this three times before to two different developers who constantly insist on sending them accounts stuck in randoms. On all three instances I've had no follow ups, no thank you, no notice that the issue had been resolved. I usually waited about 1-2 weeks before I checked back on the account, and the last log in IP was my own. Perhaps someone had already sent them an account, but a PM would be nice... snobs.

Anyways, I do agree with you that the people on those forums flip over shit way too easily. That's why I said the original post was taken from there. I just felt like posting it here as well, in case anyone is interested.

 

NeXus is very fast to update things like this. We'll be fine
