Do you hate it when people try to "Save" you?

As naïve as attempting and hoping to see the best of people, regardless of bribes initiated by deities, I refuse to look through the most cynical of visions and dictate another person's feelings and reasons behind any action. However, I am not saying that I am blind or refuse to see the worst in people.

 

I can't stand it, I have and will get highly offended with the person. Religion to me is a very personal thing, as it should be to most people.

why should you be catholic? because centuries ago your and MY ancestors killed millions of people in the name of their god to spread a CAPITALISTIC religion. I want and will have no part in it, I wish we could choose where our tax dollars went so we could shut down this bullshit. Lie to the old and steal from the needy, lowest scum.

I could go on, but simply put stay the fuck away from me if you're going to preach because neither you nor your lying well-paid-poor-robbing priests know anymore about our existence.

 

I see a consistent pattern in the people attempting to "save" us.

They're young, brainwashed, and unintelligent individuals. I truly do pity some of them.

If you speak another language, they leave quickly. They used to visit my house quite often, but I started answering the door, looking confused, and asking questions in Dutch. Since I live in the United States, they must have assumed I spoke tongues because most people here, at least in my geographical location, speak only one language: English.

 

1. no disrespect is meant, but I must point out what to me appears obvious. I have done a fair amount of research into each religion and have drawn my own conclusions, regardless of the personal consequences. My grandfather was a minister and I only wished I could have been of age to talk with him personally about his beliefs. I was forced to go to church until 16 and openly expressed my views to try to get out of it. After that I was basically forced into another year, but went to a cafe and played chess instead. I wont preach to you and I expect similar treatment, but exchanging thoughts, regardless how hostile they seem, is always productive; as critical thought is what this world needs. These drones are only going to bring it down.

2. Churches for the most part are run by the government, and are government funded. Catholic churches (for the most part) are some of the few that aren't. I know one of the local Christian ministers, he's making 70 grand a year by doing services at both churches, and doing hospital trips.

Now there's this dictatorship out there, basically a small town inside a large city located in Italy. It influences the lives of around a billion people, and is full of millionaires. Millionaires...? well Catholicism is a profit organization, where all the money goes back to one source. Some of it is used to "spread" belief but mind you killing 110Million people in previous generations helped a lot, but much of it goes AND STAYS within those walls. They still have slaves in one form or another, but with a sovereign state and a solid number of people on your side who is going to say anything about it?

3. Peer pressure works in multiple ways, and although it was originally a Jewish thing to cup your ears expecting thanks that offering plate is no different to me.

Wonder why so many poor and old people are in churches? it's because they feel they have no hope, nowhere else to turn. So the old are told great things about the afterlife, an afterlife that if actually discovered would lead to mass suicide; and the poor are told that if you are generous you will live a rich life.

Atheism is not a religion... it means you do not believe in a religion, saying that atheism is a religion is overlapping its meaning and it creates a paradox.


As the topic, i kind of like it when theists try to "save me" because i just turn it on them and try to "save" them from christianity, it shuts them up at least...

 

Pft, hardly. I know many people try to "save" atheists because it's practically a ticket to heaven. Religion motivated by fear...

 

The world would be a better place without religion to be honest.

 

I don't hate it. I enjoy discussing religion, and I've had a couple of long discussions with Jehova's witnesses when they tried to convert me. And from those conversations I'll have to say that they seem far less delusional than Catholics and Protestants.

Since when do I have to go to church to pay? State pays church, I pay state => I pay church.

 

Selfish acts, christians above all people, know that it's not an act to do when trying to access Heaven. They do it because they care about God's People.

 

What's the difference between a Christian (person) trying to make you believe, and an atheist trying to make you disbelieve?

(Because it does go both ways).

 

I'll have to disagree and say it doesn't evenly go both ways. Maybe on the internet where people more openly express themselves it does, but in real life atheists are much more condemned and secretive about their beliefs. If most atheists aren't even openly so, how can they go around trying to create apostates?

 

Hmm they got here all langauges wich they speak in mine region.
Anyways i just don't answer the door when i see them. Because i am always like : Dude i dont want your religion.

 

If they are some Christian gospel teacher or some shit like that, of course I hate it. However, I had a taxi driver the other day who was a Tibetan Monk and we talked about Tibetan Buddhism and he played his music that is supposed to save you soul, and I found that enjoyable, even though I didn't believe the spiritual aspects of it.

 

What would people believe in then?
You know, what would re-assure them that the sun is going to rise tomorrow.

 

Why believe in something like a religion when you can try to find out the truth of the matter. It is much more satisfying. But if you need to believe in something, believe in Science and Education. Not some book of compiled 2000 year old stories about magic. Science explains why the sun "rises" every morning.
