If not, restart.
IF it is done then yes it can be good provided you raise the str to at least 80+ and perhaps range if you're looking to range-2h switch.

 

Rune pures take a lot of time for example you need to do quests to get turmoil, barrow gloves, zerker etc. It takes a really long time.

Just make a new account and make it a pure if you have no commitment, if you want to spend a long time, then go for a zerker.

Do 100% QUESTS for 45 defence.

fremmy, turmoil, ect.

 

Still has potential everyone forgets about being a barrows pure.

New character, you won't get any fights wearing Rune Armour so there's almost no reason to have 40 defense. Just start over. Keep your prayer at no higher than 31 as well.

 

Get 99attack 99 strength 99 ranged and own it up.

 

Def is really too high to make it a f2p pure per se... You could go for a def tank and annoy the shit out of people, but I think you're past being a pure.

 

do quests for 45 def and then get 95 pray for turmoil. then you will be epic zerker
