Do you think smoking weed is bad?

Whenever people who don't smoke weed find out that I smoke weed, they usually always tell me it's bad. I disagree though. I think I should be able to do what I want in my spare time aslong as I'm not hurting anyone else. What are your guys thoughts on this? Do you think it's bad, but do it anyway? Also, do you consider weed to be a drug and how often do you smoke weed?

Anything is theoretically addictive, it's the quantity that determines how productive it is for you.

 

I don't find it bad at all, as long as you aren't indangering anyone.
In my opinion, weed smokers help the economy because all we do is buy shit from small business owners (gas station food marts)

 

I understand what you're saying I meant that to a certain extent.. I'm just meaning like, at my home why can't I smoke weed because it doesn't affect anyone but myself. I'd just like to say FUCK the Government.

 

I don't think it's wrong, in some cases it can be bad but I think in general people are misinformed or biased or don't have a strong knowledge of cannibis.

 

I agree with you. It's ridiculous that weed is illegal anyways in my opinion. I haven't seen a good argument as to why it shouldn't be legal.

 

Exactly. Everyone gets told it is so bad, but I think cigarettes and alcohol are the real killers. I just think weed should be decriminilized.

I'm meaning for recreational purposes. I smoke and get high at home with mates or even by myself. It sounds like you're one of the many who don't have a complete understanding of marijuana. It's everywhere, many people smoke it and it has helped me change for the better. I used to be an angry person but since I started smoking marijuana I've become a lot more mellow and calm. Also, no one said it's going to solve any major problems. I don't see how making it illegal solves any problems at all. Also marijuana is known to be good for pain relief and it also relaxes your body.

 

Weed is sometimes used for cancer patients to relieve them of stress. It does have a medical use.

Everything is good in moderation. Excessive use is bad.

 

That reasoning is quite flawed: is choking down tar good in moderation? I know this is an extreme juxtaposition, but the general point that weed would not be considered good in moderation if it was harmful is clear.


I've heard from a lot of guys that the herb has healing properties, but I still have a problem with the smoke being held and transferred in your lungs.

 

Yeah apart from that weed is just bad not worth it.....Short term effects awesome, long term effects stupid..

 

Marijuana does have medical uses. It helps patients with HIV, Glaucoma, and it's a pretty safe drug.

Alcohol is a pointless drug with no medical uses and it's legal so why not make Marijuana legal?

I'm not saying that it's harmless and it's good for you but it is less harmful than legal drugs and there is no reason to keep it illegal because it supports the violent drug cartels in Mexico and gangs use it as a way to make money to buy weapons and harder drugs.

 

I smoke it, and Ive rather enjoyed it. I dont really think its that bad it just made me feel better.

 

Overall income of the sale of marijuana are some of the largest to date. Putting a tax on it would greatly help the 'worldwide economy'.

There needs to be no type of displayed proof to support this. Go to google. Go to any website with information, good or bad, on how taxing marijuana would help/hurt the economy.

The only thing i think is wrong is that weed can be a gateway drug however so is alcohol and cigarettes. I also think that weed can become addictive mentally. I do not think you should be a good or bad person based on if you smoke or don't smoke weed. If you have to base your opinion on something like that you should get out and see the real world. As long as you know and commit you wont go any further it shouldn't be a problem. However no matter what your personal opinions are weed is a drug and you can get in some trouble for it. It doesn't seem like getting busted with weed is a big deal but after words it is. You would be less likely to get jobs and if you cant pass a drug test you could run into problems.

But, on topic, I must say that I do not smoke weed (solely due to the fact that it is illegal in the United States), but I do not think that there is any inherent badness to it.

 

Well, right and wrong gets into a much more in depth argument as to whether there even is such a thing...but I digress. Assuming there is a "wrong", no...I don't think smoking weed is wrong. You should be able to do what you want in your own time as long as it doesn't hurt anyone other than yourself. To me, ODing on hydrocodine isn't wrong assuming you have no friends or family ties, hence not hurting anyone indirectly.

This being said, weed (as with alcohol and other drugs) is best in moderation. When it starts to affect your life in a negative way, it is a problem...if only to you. And, from personal experience, grades and general productivity go way down when you are high. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess that if you are high all the time, you're not getting anything done.

Moral...it's not wrong and if it makes you happy, then go for it. But be warned, your grades aren't going to go up and there's always the risk of the law finding out and coming down harder than is necessary.
