Cut back on Vaders

How about whenever a new member joins Sythe, they must wait 1 week to post in the Market section?

PROS-
-Vaders would have to wait a week to vade opposed to making an account and scamming right away.
-Would cut back on scams

CONS-
-Unfortunate for non-vaders (But if you think about it, anyone that sells in the market doesnt trust leechers anyway)

And maybe (just maybe) after a vader has to wait a few weeks for his accounts, he'd give up.

This won't cut back on the evaders at all and wouldn't be beneficial to the site.

It isn't hard to make a bunch of accounts and wait 1 week and this will just hurt the amount of members that register.

Not really. If someone was willing to go through the effort of building up reputation even though they might be caught at anytime, I don't see them stopping because they have to wait 1 week to post in the market section. If anything, they'll spam in the other sections and then scam once they gain access to the market sections.

 

if i joined this site and i couldnt post in the market section for a week. I would never be on. People come here to sell accounts. they wouldnt come if they couldnt do that.

 

This idea doesn't discourage ban evaders at all. If I was a ban evader I would have no problem waiting a week to use the Black Market like everybody else.

 

Well, would you rather have more members (80% of them are vaders) or a have a smaller community of non-vaders?

Mods are there for a reason, to keep down the spamming. What would you rather have..spamming or scamming?

 

Some vaders *cough* harped *cough* are only around for other parts of the forums, and don't even use the Market Section to begin with. I don't support, this wouldn't help much at all in my opinion.

 

I think the first step is cutting back on these pointless suggestions. If someone wants to scam they'll wait a week just to do it.

Some people may just come here for help or spam forum.

 

I doubt the evaders would even wait; they would probably either create several accounts at once in expectation of future bans, or we'd simply end up with an underground market for aged Sythe accounts.

 

I would agree something needs to be done to stop vaders, and would not be opposed to this one, but as mentioned above I am convinced that maybe it was a bad idea..

I do plan on using this site to make money myself offering services, and hope to be able to pay rent this way haha.

But id imagine a lot of people do cause problems

 

I personally don't think this will help. People who plan on scamming would just make accounts in advance and it'd make all new sythe members regret joining. When I join a site, I join it because I want instant access, not a time-limit before I can do stuff.

There would still be a bunch of vaders because if I was gonna ban evade I would make a couple of accounts at the same time that I created my first account and then when one gets banned the other will already be able to post.

 

It might actually encourage vaders to rejoin. It makes it easier for them to get away with it. Since it allows them to lay low for a week, making others less likely to believe they are the banned account. No support. Also hurts new members.

 

or vaders could make like 8 accounts then scam...
