First attempt on signature. [FAIL]?

Just got cs5 photoshop; mucking around here and here and did so shit. anyways can i have some advice on how i can improve , tutorials that WILL be HELPFUL to BEGINNERS. Thanks. RATE/HATE HATE HATE/RAGE.



kinda took me a while to figure out abit.

 

I like the blue streaks, they seem to flow really well with the focal. The green ones kinda ruin it for me. Background seems too empty/plain. Text is eh and the bevel around the image is eh. Just keep working at it, experimenting or looking at psds (try planetrenders) is a good way to get started.

 

yeah. Thats what i thought , didn't know whether too use green or not also text is just proving its me but there's no need since its so shit no one would show it lol.
And yeah i did planetrender. I'm not sure about the background can you explain to a noob like me?

 

i recommend looking at other peoples GFX to get a better idea on how you should be making your sigs look. (the brush on plain BG isnt a good look)
also search sigtutorials for some beginner stuff =p

 

really like it, although the background is a bit too bright

 

The avatar is good, also the blue lines are also good, the green and the background + the text are badly done, perhaps a gradient background without the green stripe and a well designed font would go well.

Nicee for a first. but its lacking effects.

 

The overall flow of the signature goes very well together.

Keep messing around with blending and mess around with some more good renders.

You're doing fairly well.

 

This is better than my first, although you should rarely center your focal, it doesn't blend very well either. Work on your smudging, not bad for a first!
