What Is Wrong With Sythe?

Why are more than 75% of the users on old topics *BANNED*?

What is wrong with this community? I realize it has never been that much better but this is ridiculous, does everyone come here to try to trick/scam/deceive/fraud?

Aren't there any preventive measures we can make to stop this?
Even User Educators are commonly banned, and they most likely just get UE to be more trusted as they scam someone and ultimately get banned, shouldn't Sythe.org realize how much trust users put in their ranked community members?

Honestly, I don't think anyone who doesn't use an OMM is a legit trader, except when you trust a service and go first, or people trust you and automatically go first.
I've had people dodge out of using an OMM so often I don't think it's just that they "nvm found anotha acc" or that they "cant afford sry misread" anymore, I think nearly everyone who offers something in topics that isn't straight up PP basic cash using OMM is a scammer, and sadly, I have a valid reason to assume that.

Sythe.org scammers, please stop, please stop ruining not only a community but an entire market, I can't do trades anymore.

Many people are banned for things other than scamming, and many people come back and make multiple accounts.

If you don't trust someone for whatever reason, there are plenty of steps you can take to remove the possibility of being defrauded. Use a middleman and check that the person hasn't been banned before and you'll be fine.

I'd say 99.9% of people who won't use an OMM when you even offer to pay are scammers. The other 00.1% are just ignorant to what an OMM is.

A lot of people get banned here due to strict rules on scamming, hacking, etc.

I mean I think a ton of people have been unfairly banned too, but really for some reason a lot of people here are malicious, it's weird.

I'm not sure why sythe has such a malicious community amongst them though. I can say there are PLENTY of good people here too, and when I don't visit the market I hardly find the bad people, well besides ban evaders and people spamming for post count.

 

Of course there are scammers. People know sythe, and they know that a lot of traders come through here, so they go to the trouble of doing small trades, until a large trade comes their way, then scam. They don't care, simply because there ARE other sites like sythe.org, but not as good. Don't lose hope, hopefully we can weave all of them out.

 

Some people don't want to pay fees.

 

Oh I meant if YOU are willing to pay the fee and the other party still doesn't want to use an OMM, then the other party is most likely either really ignorant to what an OMM is, or a scammer.

 

I can still understand not feeling totally comfortable with an OMM for an enormous trade. OMMs have scammed in the past.

 

That is true, I didn't consider that when I posted. However a trade $250- is easily trusted by an OMM.

On the other hand, not all new people could trust an OMM. When I First came to sythe I thought it downloaded trojans to your computer because my friend had said so...not everyone immediately trusts sythe.

 

You're much better off trusting a verified middleman than a complete stranger...

I find Using a Middleman to be extremely tedious and time-consuming. Unless it is for a $50+ trade, I probably won't bother trading. However, it's great to have them for big account/Iphone/PS3/Xbox 360 things (see my sig if you want to sell me games). Subliminal messaging <.<.

However, if the other party offers to pay all fees I see no reason not to go along with it...

 

Ridiculous. Some old banned members such as Shredderbeam, Giddy, Atomic and others have created good threads that we need.

Not everyone who refuses an OMM is a scammer. People who don't want to use MMs for trades $50+ should be traded with caution. It is unreasonable to use an OMM for a trade less than $10 if the OMM fees are $15.

 

There are plenty of free MMs who are as good or better than OMMs; Skele and Tyro come to mind.

ok, I admit that was a wild accusation, but from my experience a trade where he FORCES you to go first, you trust him little, and he refused to use an OMM on a $75+ trade with you paying fee's usually isn't a good sign..


You've proven me wrong though, there are obviously exceptions and I know that, but I just meant as a rule of thumb when trading with new users.

 

Of course it's not a good sign, but making wild allegations isn't the way forward at all. When I first came to Sythe, I had nothing except a few pins I wanted to get rid of. Would I go first? No. Did I refuse to use an OMM? Absolutely.

 

You should be happy the scammers are getting banned.
