I need to break up with my girlfriend.

I need to break up with her. But the problem is that I already know all her family and they like me and all that business. But the larger problem is that I dont want her to go to her friends afterwards and tell them what an asshole I am. How can I let her down in a way in which she wont think Im a total jerk?

 

Tell her that you don't want your friendship to be broken because of a relationship. Tell her that you are afraid of losing her, so you don't want to take the risk of falling out over relationship matters, resulting in not being able to see her again.

This is why you don't date close friends.

 

Why do you need to break up with her? Please explain. If it's for a stupid reason, then break up with her and face the music. If not, who cares if you break up with her? You're not being a jerk.

Kind of true. If it's for a pathetic reason, or for another girl, then you're probably being unreasonable and deserve the crap you will get for it.

However, if she has been unfaithful towards you, or has done something terrible, let her go and make sure you make your feelings towards her 100% clear.

Just feed her the usual, it's not working out how I would like it, I think we would be better as close friends; I'm really sorry that this couldn't work out and you mean so much to me but it just isn't working. You were such a good friend to me, and I think we should stay that way.

So what if a group of teenage girls thinks you're an ass? It's not the end of the world -
Tell her that you aren't feeling as if this would work out, and that it'd be best to see other people. You shouldn't continue a relationship if you don't like your boyfriend/girlfriend anymore.

 

If your feelings aren't with the relationship, don't be subjected to it, and tell her the truth. It would be better to end it earlier then later as the relationship grows. Think about it though.

 

So far you're not being a jerk. If you have a legit reason it's alright. Just sit her down and talk to her. If you do it honorably her family won't hate you.

just stop talking to here as often as you do, stop seeing her as often..
start to drift away and make her think, do I really wanna stay.
Don't be a dick to her just try to find something she likes about you, something that made her date you in the first place, and crush it..
if she likes how caring you are, stop caring..
if she likes how clean you are, stop taking showers and dont wash your clothes (just examples)

Say you heard from a reliable source that she was seen kissing some other kid. If she said that was her brother/cousin, tell her your not interested in a girl who does incest. I'm serious about this. It tells her parents shes not trust-able in relationships.

If you have some reasons to break up with her then explain to her for why you want to break up with her. If you not have some reasons to break up with her so stay with her.

Get a chick hotter than her who really likes you, and make her break up with you. If you want a good reputation and a break in your favor you need to make yourself look good, and the only way to do that is make her look worse.
