Why did almost every sectional mod get perms for another section?

Farcast - Got Market perms
Jimmy - Got Off-topic perms
Kadaj - Got Off-topic perms
Kiabin - Got Runescape perms
Louis - Got Runescape perms
Sindrefyrn - Got Market perms

Well probably because they visit that section frequently and felt it could be beneficial to have permissions there

 

We're running a trial whereby anyone that has been a sectional for at least two months may take on a second section. This allows for greater coverage and also allows the sectionals to try out other fields.

 

Two months is a very short amount of time, I like the idea but I think you should just increase the time between a second section.

I disagree. 2 months is fine. This is better Just tasking the current sectionals with extra sections because you know you can depends on them. Better than promoting new people who'll only get banned a while later.

 

Read Finn's Statement again, they don't give them extra work, they can choose to , Which would be a better choice for the staff member in question and a better Choice for the Upper Staff when choosing a new staff member, considering they can trust the already Trusted Staff member

 

Two months is basically long enough for someone to learn the ropes and become comfortable in the moderating role.

As for Finn's post, it's a good idea that you all have implemented. Hopefully it'll cut down on spam in other sections now that they're more people to moderate those sections.

I believe that if a Sectional Moderator is recognized significantly in other sections, then they deserve the right to have the trial Moderation occur in other sections, despite the intervals.

 

Was also wondering, and it's a good idea, lets them try branch out some more

 

I guess it would be better then giving it someone else new, and chancing the trust, and having to get them to learn the ropes. I think it's a good idea.

 

Is this a replacement from promoting new members?

 

I would presume it'd be a better choice than hiring new members, as they know the sectional mods can already be trusted.
