Doppelgängers

Do you believe in doppelgängers? And for those who don't know, a doppelgänger is basically your look-a-like. It has been said that everyone in the world has their own doppelgänger, and if you happen to meet someone who looks exactly like you (excluding twins); death will come.

 

I've read old tales and stories about them, all ending with either vague or strange outcomes, like this one abought how a guy ran into his doppelgänger, thus forging them both together via their soul, and saving his life.

I believe there are people in the world who can look extremely similar to you.

However, I believe the second portion of your post to be nothing more than a myth.

 

I've heard that there's also supposed to be two other copies of yourself in the world. And if two of the copies meet each other, both will die, and luck will come toward the one that didn't die.

And @ Farcast - Yes, it could all be just a myth. There have been some weird phenomenons though.

 

And where's the evidence for any of this?

 

i met mine at cedar point and absolutely nothing happend my brother and his friend were freakin out and they kept trying to non shalauntly take pics of him lol

 

There's no specific evidence as it's all been rumored. But who know? It could be real. I'm a believer for the most part.

 

Did anyone hear about the myth that Hitler had a doppelganger do his speeches?

Just for safety reasons if someone tries to kill him.

And I was watching History Channel about how Hitler's skull did not have a bullet hole in his head. I don't know it was long ago.
But they said maybe Hitler is still alive because he may have used a doppelganger.

Cool stuff though tbh.

 

I haven't heard about that, but it sounds very interesting. The same could be said for the death of Michael Jackson though.

 

There's no evidence. How can you reason with no evidence?

 

This isn't a discussion about whether or not we need evidence to prove that doppelgängers are real or not.

This is just a discussion asking whether or not you believe in them. They could be real, they could not. They're currently nothing but a myth, but that isn't the objective of this topic.

 

Okay then. No, I don't believe in them.

 

This doesn't make sense :O If they both die, how can "The one that didn't die" recieve luck. They both died.

Also, I believe that there isn't actually any physical reason you would die, making this nothing short of an obvious myth. If the reason was because you OMG'd to stressful levels, then yes, it may make some sense, but not just because you can see a near-to-exact lookalike of yourself. That would be insane.
Also, alot of the time people don't actually know what they fully look like.

 

Because there are two copies EXCLUDING you is what he was saying. So there are three in all and if two meet they will die and you or per-say another you lives, he will gain great fortune..I think there might be dopplegangers, but I think this good fortune aspect is nonsense.

 

Indeed, the good fortune is just something that will cause poeple to believe in it a little bit more, then psychology will kick in and if you do ever meet your "Doppelganger" you will get the feeling of luck on your side. Then again, I don't believe this nonsense.
