Not just of yet, I still need to ask some people op ion's on what I can improve on.

 

cosrob is a rather respectable person with a decent amount of intelligence(more than enough to become a UE).

I feel he'd do great on his application and I hope he's accepted.

I honestly believe Cosrob should be a UE. He is intelligent and actually thinks before he posts. Also I've only seen Cosrob trying to help people. I don't think I've ever seen a post bye him that has not been beneficial to someone.

 

Cosrob you have the right mindset and I feel like you have the right drive. Now all you have to do is really take it home with the quality of your guides.
If you choose a basic subject, you really need to tear it apart and bring out the fine details that will appeal to the curiosity of others and help pique their interest.

It's been said before, and I'm going to reiterate that your guides are extremely simple and some things, such as a guide to make your thread visually pleasing, is not only extremely low level stuff but is also subject to opinion.

 

I see what you are saying but when everybody else were giving me criticism my guides were completely basic. At the moment I don't think they are basically at all. To some people teaching a animal to listen to you is hard and tiresome work furthermore most criticism that most people receive on their guides are you need to colour it up, centre it, space it out etc etc. Yes it is subjective on how guides look or not but the average person would agree that you would need colour and such to make it visually pleasing.


Can you honestly tell me that this guide below without colours is not more visually pleasing that the guide beneath it.

That's acceptable, you can take criticism however you want. However think about what I say this way. When I criticize you, I have nothing to gain. It doesn't make me look better, it doesn't make me feel better, and it doesn't help my own application process into the UE.

What I say is for your benefit alone. Your guides are not basic because they aren't useful. They are basic because they are orthodox and lack depth.

EDIT: In addition, you lack the "above and beyond" that set people who make guides in the UE apart from other people who make guides. Impeccable grammer and proper conventions need to always be present. I already have spotted a few mistakes in your "Teach Your Dog How To Handshake" guide. Revisiting my issue with the lack of depth, your Dog guide has a very narrow focus. You offer one way to teach the dog how to do something and that's it. You don't address potential issues people might encounter. You don't address other methods, i.e. professional trainers. It's the little extra you put into each guide to set it apart and make it something people can continually reference whenever they need help that puts you up there.

I'm not saying your application is awful. I'm just saying it's very.. on par with others, and in my opinion, when you're trying out for anything you need to be outstanding.

Well when applying for Ue your guides only count for 50% of your application the other half comes from how helpful and beneficial you are to the community. That said all feedback you give does indeed help your Ue application.


With the "impeccable" grammar. You don't need to have perfect grammar to become a Ue. It's just that good grammar and good guides usually go hand in hand. Most people with higher than average grammar not "impeccable" can still be accepted. Thank you for telling me that my Guide to Shake Hands has a few errors as now I will fix them up, the fact that my guide shows you most likely the only way for you to teach your dog to shake hands doesn't mean it's narrow focused. Personally I don't think there is another way for you to your dog besides giving him/her a reward for being obedient. The way you suggested for a dog trainer would not be suitable for a guide as all it tells you is

1. Go to the Yellow pages
2. Find dog trainers
3. Ring a dog trainer
4. Make a appointment
5. Open the door for the dog trainer
6. Leave the dog trainer and dog alone
7. Say thank you to the dog trainer for teaching your dog to shake hands


The fact was my guide was for you to teach your dog to shake hands not somebody else. I know it was just a example you suggested to improve the guide but it isn't valid. I'm not saying that I don't value your feedback and I quite enjoy having having it it's just... I don't feel it's 100% correct.
