$25 donor perk

Had an idea recently. Don't know if it's been suggested but here goes nothing.

I think $25+ donors should be able to upload one custom font of their own. Why, you may ask? Well, it can be used to make their threads (shops, UE applications, guides, etc) more attractive. You may only have one font uploaded at a time.

And as Necro suggested before, we (the $5+ donors) should be able to select our default font and color so that we don't have to pick them every time we post.

Don't know if it's gonna be hard to be implement, but just felt like suggesting it.

I support. I like this idea alot. I am gonna donate soon and i would like to upload my favorite font. (Disko). Also sometimes if i like posting in color i would like it to do it for me.

 

This is good, but it would probably lag the site with so many people uploading fonts.

 

According to a list in the donor lounge, there are a hundred $25+ donors. Of course, I also counted the banned users. We should also keep in mind some of them are also inactive. A font is usually a 100KB each.

 

I'm not sure if this is a good idea.

Many fonts are difficult to read, and I for one like the linear approach Sythe takes with fonts. Straight forward and easy on the eyes.

It would be nice for $25+ donors to recieve some kind of perk, but I don't think this would be the best idea. It would just make some posts hard to read, especially if users chose eroded and distorted fonts.
I do however agree that a default font should be available for donors.

 

I do not think that different fonts would improve the quality of this site. As farcast said, many are hard to read, and some can even be annoying to look at.

What's the point, granted you may enjoy certain colours but it's not important to the community as a whole.

I thinks this would be a good thing to add.

Maybe not a "custom" one you're able to upload yourself, but another one they will add for donors to use that's different then the current selections.

 

I don't support this at all - I find any other font and colour other than the default just a pain in the arse to look at and read.
If people post in a large pink, green, cyan, etc. font, I simply don't bother looking at their posts.
Seriously, I find it a gauge of their maturity and an ability to say anything constructive.

 

I have to say that it really isn't need. You could always make a picture with the font you selected. Yes it would require much more work but still it would as good not if better.

Many people didn't like the default color as they thought it was too troublesome. Maybe just a default font?

 

Meh I was not suggesting that we use these hard-to-read fonts on every post.

And what about the default font? It seems only Necro ever said anything about that. >_>
