[denied] Thread content requirement

So often I go to look at a thread for a service and the only content is an animated banner with a link to their discord and it reads something like "jOiN mY dIsCoRd To FiNd OuT wHaT wE oFfEr!"

This is extremely annoying behavior - if people want to post a thread they should have to write content rather than just attaching an image and a link to a discord.

This tactic is baiting people to waste time clicking on their thread without giving them proper information about what services and prices they provide. Nobody wants to join your discord to find this information, its the whole reason we clicked your thread.

 

I'm pretty confident, when they proceed to do such actions, they get an infraction of some sort. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it's something along the lines of "Failed to provide a quote."

 

There's hundreds of these threads on every section of the forums with just an animated banner and a link to a discord server.

 

Oh my bad, I thought you meant if someone asked for a quote. But prices cannot be squeezed in a thread.

What services they offer are fine to post on thread and should be imo, however prices cannot really be posted on the thread.

 

I think it’s fine honestly. If you decided to go with their service you would have to join their discord anyway so might as well join it and check the prices there.

 

My point being they should have to advertise their prices on Sythe. When I click a thread for a service I expect to be provided with information regarding that service, not a redirect to an external server.

 

I don't see it being realistic posting all prices, fees, uncharges etc on a thread. No support.

Above is a cookie cutter image he has on a ton of threads. It is in a section for buying and selling bonds but he doesn't even mention selling bonds. How is this not spam?

 

I mean this example you chose was poor. The infographic literally shows that he’s selling subscriptions for things like Spotify , Disney+ and YouTube premium.

picking an item which differs in price
i'd be listing them as "starting at 2$" for example
now, an ironmeme comes that want's it traded to a lvl 3 & wants to pay with paypal: i'd have to charge him accordingly - he get's upset because "i baited him with a 2$ price" and start's a discussion, which no-one needs

also - since sythe accounts arent made for sharing, i am obviously the only one using this very account. my staff however is online on the server 24/7.


also, just for reference:
we buy gold, we sell gold - bond = gold?
we sell accs
we provide services
(it's all on the banner)

it basically implies that we provide "anything" that is there related to RS
i could go ahead and list everything by name
now that would be a bloated thread with 200 posts just to list everything we do

there’s too much complexity in quoting services. Different builds, iron or normal, combat stats & gear affect many skills pricing.
If you need a price for something, stop being a lazy bum and make a post yourself looking for prices.

Even with the other option you chose for primal, it shows his payment methods he takes so there’s nothing wrong with it being there.

 

Damn, I'm a lazy bum because I don't want to click on a half dozen threads, join their discord servers, create tickets, wait an indefinite amount of time, get a price, and repeat over and over? Seems like the type of logic a person like you would have.

The whole purpose of the forums on Sythe is to ADVERTISE services. Not redirect people to another platform to do it.

 

Idk. I understand that when you have a price quote for 1-70 agility and a customer already has 40 agility that makes it cheaper. However, having those baseline prices is still better than nothing. Throwing your hands in the air and calling it too difficult is a bit of a stretch imo. People ask me for my prices and then from there they ask me to negotiate but that can only be done once they know the baseline prices. I kind of agree with OP but I also understand that when you put rules in place people will push them to the limit and the administrative nightmare that would be considered "correct" would suck for mods.

Not my circus, not my monkeys. I dont really like either option.

 

You do realize that you can make a thread in any of the user services sections asking for a price of things you want, and people will bid on it right?

It can become increasingly difficult depending on build.
We could go ahead and post 64gp per xp for Strength training and then someone comes in wanting to buy strength training on a 10hp iron pumping at blast furnace, and the price is going to be drastically different.

And regardless if you make a note in the post that says “prices may very based on stats, gear, and whatever.” Someone is bound to throw a fit because as I’m sure we all know and have seen, no one ever reads the entire post.
If that was the case, then having your TOS on your sale thread for accounts, would be upheld even if you didn’t have them agree.
