Someone threatening to send worm.

Well basically I'm playing on a RSPS right now and I guess I pissed off an admin and now he's saying that he can send a worm with just having my IP. The owner Is his IRL friend so he can't do much. What I'm basically asking is, is it possible to send a worm with just knowing my IP?

 

Im not a computer person but Im pretty sure the worse thing he can do is to DDOS you.. Pointless really for you. But another thing is. For now.. Don't open any suspicious items etc. from your email and such. Apart from that.. I dont think he can do shit. Anyone wanna help?

 

Na you're fine. With IP address all you can do is find out service provider, address/anything in the yellow pages(if he has your last name) and send you DDoS attacks. IP address goes by modem/router not individual computer.

You cant send a worm without more data/information. Glad to see that they put your mind at ease; Nothing worse then being worried about something that we could answer. Have a good day.

 

He can't do anything harmful with your IP address, just don't go around opening emails and downloading things.

If you're worried, turn your router off and on and you should be assigned a new IP.

And don't visit the RSPS again, he could put a driveby on it and get you.
