    HTML Help

Not quite sure if this is the right forum (if its not it can moved/locked/ect.)

I'm somewhat new to HTML, just a little past the basics, but this is dumbfounding me. I'm using ipbfree to host my forums, and I was just curious if theres anyway (and if so, HOW?) to make user's names images. Our goal is to kinda copy sythe's mod/staff/donator ect. user names (sorry lol, but you gotta admit its badass)

If anyone could help me it would be appreciated =D

Yeah, vbulletin uses a plugin that allows you to replace a username with an image.

You would need to know php in order to make a mod like this. I also don't think IPBFree gives you access to forum files in order to make the necessary modifications to implement a custom one by hand.

You could use javascript to do it. It'll be a very nasty hack but who cares. :p

Basically you have a script that searches for every post and replaces the link to the poster's profile with the appropriate images. I've seen something very similar done before, I'm sure it wouldn't take more than basic javascript knowledge to complete.

No not if you stored the list of ranks on a different server as you'd have to if your using ipf, but the page would have to load before the ranks would start to be replaced.

I guess it's not possible if you are not the one who ones the PHP files and can edit them.

PHP can make dynamic images with any text in them at lightning speeds...
I would be glad to help.
