    Help.

I'm currently 5'9 and weigh only 109 lbs. I think I'm fairly tall but am worried about my weight. It really, really bugs me and especially when girls comment on how small I am. I want to have an ideal weight around 160 lbs. I'm currently eating 3 hearty meals a day, eating a peanut butter and jelly + chocolate milk before bed. I work out 3-4 days a week because I wrestle (note: I do NOT "cut" weight for wrestling, so it is not a problem) but I try to avoid heavy lifting because a mom who is a personal trainer says that it will stunt growth.

    My weights for lifting

    Curl - 20
    Bench - 90 rep x 10
    Squat - 140 (skinny legs)
    Row - 35

I want to become stronger and weigh around 160 lbs in the next couple years. I am currently 15 years old and want to achieve this by age 18. I don't have poor genes, my father is 180, 6'1'' and my mother is 5'7''... I don't know her weight but I estimate around 140?

Have I just not hit puberty yet and should I not be worried or should I be doing things to reach my goals?

    Thanks in advance.

    Help.

I was 6'0 145 before I realized I wanted to put on some mass, you sound like an ectomorph (thin, easy to loose weight but hard to put it on) like myself, and simply eating and lifting wasn't enough.

Have a nutrition store around you? Doing weight work alone will sure, make you stronger, but not put on serious mass. If you have a nutrition store/vitamin shop go ask your parents to check it out and ask for a "weight gainer".

    http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/cs/gainer.html

I stack Cytogainer + ON Whey and Creatine when I'm bulking, the Cytogainer being likely all you need now. It's practically a fancy way to take in extra calories and protein (without it being fat or sugar).

Just the tub comes with all the info you need (I believe they want you to use four scoops with a gallon of milk a day but that's obviously for the hardcore guys) but I'll go through maybe two scoops of it, with the rest of my supps, after a workout.

That and eat pasta, a lot of it. Easy to make and the carbs should store (relatively) lean weight.

    Well I'm 5'9 and weigh 180.
I mean, I'm not huge, but I'm alittle big.
160 would be perfect. Just eat junk and work out.
And yes you've hit puberty lmfao, I can guarantee it.
Jusf a small kid, just try out all this advice.

    Help.

Hey, what's up? I've been Bodybuilding for a while now, and I love to talk about bulking, dieting, lifting, etc. Your goals aren't impossible, and very relistic. Putting on around 60 pounds of muscle is difficult, let me tell you now you need to bulk. People like YOU end up doing what we call a bad bulk. It's where they eat shit like McDonalds/fast acting carbs/too much protein/etc. They end up putting on too much FAT.

First off, your meals aren't going to cut it. You should be eating 6-7 times a day. Use a calorie calculator to see how many calories you should be intakeing to bulk, in example, I eat well over 3600+ calories a day. Roughly 430ish grams of carbs, 250ish grams of Protein, and 75g of fat. You need to know your good, and bad carbs. Fast acting, and slow acting. Example of good slow acting carbs would be Oatmeal, baked potatoe, brown rice. Fast acting would be whole wheats. Good carbs are found in those, but bad carbs would be something like, granola, most cereals, fast foods, etc.

Workout is almost as important as the dieting, pick one, you're either working out 3, or 4 days a week. I personally do a 5 day split which looks something like this.

    Monday - Legs
    Tuesday - Back
    Wednesday - Off
    Thursday - Chest
    Friday - Shoulders/traps
    Saturday - Arms
    Sunday - Off

There is also 3/4 day splits, if you'd like to create one. Look into them though..

Also, i recommend you take creatine, and a good gainer. Since you're only 15 years old I'd recommend you take MICRONISED creatine with your post workout shake. As for the gainer, it's up to you to use one, but find a good one, or you'll bloat up like a motherfucker.

Your meals should look something like this (I'll wright mine down as an example.)

Meal 1 - 1 1/2 cups oatmeal with some whey mixed with a gainer, for recovery and mass. (Some gainers contain whey already...)

Meal 2 - 5-6 oz Chicken breast, 1 cup of brown rice with fruit (pineapple is the best way to go.)

Meal 3 - Same as meal 2 without the fruit.

Meal 4 (Small/Preworkout/roughly 40-60 minutes before workout) Whole wheat bread (get the fast acting carbs in before the workout.) with some tuna (tastes like shit, but fair protein.)

Pre-Workout supplement Superpump250 20 minutes before workout, don't mix creatine with SP250, it already has some.

Meal 5 - Post workout meal. 1 1/2 cups of oatmeal with my postworkout shake (MYOfusion) and some cottage cheese (You could have any type of small amount of protein here such as egg whites.)

Meal 6 - Dinner, whatever mom cooks on the menu (Step-dad is a BodyBuilder, so it's normally GOOD, you may not be so lucky, but you said your mom was a trainer, so it should be.)

Meal 7 (Very small, RIGHT before bed) - A small yogurt, none of that gogurt shit, or kiddie stuff either.

Yes, there can be more meals, you could spread these out, or if you stay up later then me, you might want more meals (1-2 more.) Remember on Creatine intake you should be consumeing 1 1/2 gallons of water a day, to retain water, and fill those carbs. I wouldn't recommend eating more protein then carbs, I can explain further on MSN [email protected] if you'd like of course. GOODLUCK!

Don't worry about that grow stunt B.S.

Nothing much to say since madhacker summed it up.

Very effect and cost efficient weight gainer (http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/un/mj.html)

Been using it for 4 months now, i've gained around 3-5 pounds every month. Use it smartly though, most people just use this stuff like morons and bulk up like retards resulting in a lot of fat gain.

Just throwing this out there, but Muscle Juice was my first gainer, and I'd recommend it for somebody starting to bulk. Some gainers have literally over 2200 calories per serving, and with those carlories, you need to know what the hell you're doing. Muscle juice has around 1,000 calories, loads of carbs, and 55g of protein, with a good amino acid profile. It's also cheap as hell for a gainer, and comes in a MASSIVE container. I wouldn't buy the new Muscle juice they came out with though, it's more of a post workout, and non-gainer, because of its' creatine resources. But the link Wes showed you is a perfect gainer, and morning shake with whey.

    Help.

It is extremely easy for me to lose weight, I weighed 115 (about a year of hard work to get to) in May and then my mother, brother, and sister went to France and me and my dad don't really worry about eating a lot and I lost 6 lbs.

As for the pasta, that's pretty easy, we eat it almost every night...

    Thanks :D

Thank you for the advice, I'll look into the gainers.

But I don't want to be one of those kids who looks overly muscular... Will it give me that 'roided look?...

I understand you're only 15 but how come you're using such basic lifts and not more sport specific lifts for Wrestling? I mean I guess you need a solid base to work off of...

For the Adult divisions here our lowest weight category is under 140ilbs. Adult divisions start at 16. You should probably have a more short term goal to try and reach the top of your lowest weight class and get in a competition before you shoot up too high in weight.

No, it helps put on mass. Trust me, it isn't going to make you look like an IFBB pro. Water intake, and creatine, along with a good gainer isn't only for that "roidlook." So don't worry ;)

He only weighs 109 o_O which means he is in 112. Most of the lighter weights don't muscle each other, they base their strategy on their technique. Now if he was 145+ I'd be wondering too, because after 145 every ass trys to muscle you.

You guys have an adults under 112ilb weight category lol? And outmuscling an opponent is a legit way to work your moves... it's usually easier to burn guys who play that way in submission grappling tournaments anyway though. Don't know about the freestyle scene.... never really was interested in it.

    Help.

I'm in the 112 weight category, I'm very good, I've wrestled this last year only and placed fourth in the state at 112.

I only do basic lifts because I don't really know any other exercises than the basic ones.

I do use a lot of muscling in wrestling, but my primary goal here is not to become a world famous wrestler? It's just to achieve a healthy, normal weight...

Well, teenagers. Trust me, I've watched soooo many 112 matches, I mean every now and then I might see a buffed out 5'3 guy, who can do some major damage with his muscleing. Most of the others look like twigs, and just focus on their shots, instead of standing up.

That's very understandable, just as I said. Diet properly, workout, etc. Wrestling is only a fun sport, the chances of a college wanting you to wrestle are slim, so just enjoy growing, getting big.

Just keep up the work mate.
Eat a lot of protein. If your parents would let you, try some whey protein or some MuscleMilk.

I'm naturally a big dude so I had a lot of fat to work with.

Freshman year of HS, I came in as 200lbs. Then when I played football for all four years, I ended up with 230lbs.

    Bench- 265lbs
    Squat- 500lbs
    Power Clean- 275lbs

Just keep at it buddy. And if you ever need help with lifting questions, come to me. I wanted to become a professional weight lifter until I got lazy after football ended.

Exactly, my coaches think to seem wrestling should be my life and want me to cut even further to like 103... Which is just ridiculous, I'm only 4 percent fat to begin with. Not to mention the fact that you are smaller than most girls...Which is just embarrassing.

You have high metabolism just like me.. except i'm 5'11 weighing 144. I started working out about 3 months ago. And i just got my first job and i'm going to buy a tub of creatine. It's a supplement that rebuilds and re-heals your muscles after a long workout. It also helps muscles grow at a faster rate than normal. I suggest using creatine.

The only problem you may come across with Creatine, is when you want to stop taking creatine. Creatine helps pump everything to your muscles (water) so you need to drink around 1 1/2 gallons of water a day. Yes, your muscles will enhance, but the momment you go off a creatine cylce forever, your muscles will shrink. I'm not going to say all the workouts you did were pointless, they still grew, but they won't be as large as normal. I'd only recommend creatine if you're commited to buying it over and over, and staying on it on a daily basis, or a creatine cycle.
