    Really?

    http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=863587

I agree with the first part... But second part seems very far-fetched to me. Never on any forum or even a real-life trading site like eBay or Craigslist have I seen someone get banned from the market for not adding pictures. Is this a precaution to encourage members to add pictures using a threat?

I don't see the point or the complete need to market ban someone for not adding pictures.

    Really?

I'm sure Spyike only meant that if you continuously refused to add pictures or comply with a mod's requests, you may be market banned or TwC'd.

    Really?

But a threat that could result in your account being banned from the market?

It's getting banned from going into the U.S for a felony.

No it's not making the community safer or preventing scamming at all. Just because someone hasn't uploaded pictures doesn't automatically mean it's because they're going to scam. There's logical reasons; such as not having the applicable equipment to upload them.

And anyway, Google and slight knowledge in graphics is all it takes for someone without pictures, to get pictures.

@The sticky, Jagex can not legally visit Sythe.org, but that doesn't mean they don't

Possibly a ban because of infraction build up. You won't get banned by doing this once or twice but you will get banned if you do it more and more.

Its called reading the rules, and I am sure he ment many of times in failure to abide the rules you then will get a market ban.

    Really?

He used the term ''possible'', which, lexically, implies uncertainty and no formal protocol when dealing with such occurrences. It would be unreasonable to forumban someone if it was a sole occurrence. However, simply disregarding the rules or doing so continually can warrant a forumban, which is alluded to by the use of the term ''possible''.

    Really?

How are you guys saying this was a bad thing? How many of you click a thread, see no pictures and hit the back button? I know I do that. I do not come to a thread to read paragraphs only to find out it's not what I want. I'll look at the pictures then if it interests me I'll read what has been written.

    Really?

If you don't take the time for pics then you need not take the time to sell accounts.

No pics = no dealings from me.

    Really?

I don't care. If someone posts without pictures, the thread might as well not exist, because some text isn't going to reel me in and make me add them.

I support keeping them out of the market if they are persistent on making these shitty threads.

    Go team Spyike.

    Really?

Well when you think about it.. If someone is selling... Lets say an account with an auto win of 20 bucks and its a basic pure or something with a 2mil bank. They choose not to use a OMM and the guy with the 20 bucks get screwed and ends up with a level 3. So it protects the community. With craigslist you actually go and see the product first incase its a lemon.

    Really?

To all the people that have posted after Finn:

But the fact that you can get market banned for a simple misdemeaner like that? In all societies, to the present day, none of them have given such great punishments for these small felonies.

As I stated above, it's like getting kicked out the U.S for a simple felony. It doesn't and shouldn't happen.

I do agree that it is annoying and discipline should be handed out, but this punishment seems too much. We have to look at the bigger picture here.

    Finn: Thank-you for clarifying.

    Really?

I don't see anything wrong with it.

If you don't have pictures, how does one know that you actually own the item? You could be out to scam, lie, etc.

I'd agree on the forumban only if you continuously break the rule.

    Really?

Yes, after clarifying. The initial thread was vague and I took the liberty of making the thread based on the assumption of a market-ban for an instance of a simple incident of not posting pictures.

I still think it's quite harsh though. They want to encourage people to post pictures, but with that?
