Lord of the Rings vs Star Wars

Which movie series do you like better?

 

I can't say! I don't know D: I love both of them so much. Lord of the Rings has a great story and when I finally watched them all in one go and finished them all, I felt an emptiness when I was done. It was a great trilogy, one of the best.

However, Star Wars has a great storyline. Although I hate the fact that they started with the 4th film and not the first, the first and second films made up for that disappointment. When Revenge of the Sith finally came out, I rushed to see it and I was not disappointed. I loved when Anakin switched over to the dark side and attacked his allies.

So this'll have to be a tie

 

Lord Of The Rings

 

I love Lord of the Rings. I read all the books, and most the reviews on them.

I dislike Star Wars because that long, worded, introduction. I have a tendency to read every word that pops up on anything, so that got annoying.

 

I love both films but I have too go with Lord of The Rings,Imo I miss the old trilogy of Star Wars..the new triliogy was alright but anyways,Lord of the rings>star wars...I love them both so much but LoTR wins.

 

Star Wars for sure, that's all I can say.

You are entitled to your own opinion, but don't carelessly announce that Lord Of The Rings is not comparable in scale to Star Wars. If we are referring to complete face value then LOTR totally dominates in the sense that its won a vast amount of prestigious awards- furthermore being innovative in the effects department.

Star wars pioneered many sci-fi effects and was a landmark trilogy for its time. Lord Of The Rings i feel has better character development, a much more immersible score, and impressive cinematography. I will not shed ignorance by stating that Star Wars is worse a film- but like i said.. stick to your opinion and stray away from unthoughtful comments.

Star Wars > LOTR hands down!

 

The lord of the rings by far! Amazing story, awesome movies. The hobbit will be an amazing movie as well.

 

Lord of the Rings and Star Wars are completely different series. none of the series struck me particularly, but if I had to pick one i would say LOTR, the second movie was cool

 

I found LOTR kinda boring, and dragged out, I never enjoyed the movies. Now Star Wars on the other hand, was a childhood dream, and memory. Though I enjoyed the new graphics, and nice detailed things in star wars 1/2/3, they were terrible compared to the classics. Episode 5 was just legend, I love it. I always dreamed of living in a world like that. I think the poll should REALLY be Star wars v.s Harry Potter. Then it'd be complicated.

My vote goes to Star Wars, even though 1-3 weren't that good, 4-6 definitely makes up for it. Lord of the Rings is good, just not as good as Star Wars.

 

3 movies of walking, or an epic 6 movie series, that was evolutionairy towards the sci-fi field, and had great graphics and effects for its time (the original 3) and great special effects in the newest 3. Im not sure about you guys but Id definitely say Star Wars is the better series, The lord of the rings is good, in its own, slow adventure type movie way. But starwars wins hands down. Let the Trilogy Live.

Are you serious...? The first three were amazing and revolutionary.

 

From a technical standpoint- perhaps, but did 1-3 have much substance? No. George Lucas isn't the best when it comes to dialogue.
