I would donate my organs because I think it would be kind of selfish not to since you have no use for them once you are dead. So basically all you are doing is denying someone an organ.

This is a question that is personal, it's your organs so you can do as you wish, it would be better to donate them and help save a persons life but you might not want your organs to be cut out of you. What do you feel when your dead?

Some body somewhere is dying and needs a heart. You are dead and have a suitable heart for them. You are dead, your organs are no longer useful to you but they can save someone else and i just don't understand why this question is even in your mind.

I would say No, I don't find anything wrong with it, It's just that I would want to put my family first on who would get my organs when in need, but if I was 100% sure my family would never suffer from organ failures, I would most definetly say Yes. If I had no family, I would also say Yes. Sometimes you just have to decide who you're going to help :D

I think it is your decision!

I, personally, want to be buried with all of my organs attached, with what I was born with, I would like to keep even in death.
Personally, I do see the plus side to saving lives but the other is that they will cut your body to take everything from you, sort of taking oyur life away even after death. Im not religious, but I do not want to share the organs that I was born with to anyone else unless it is for a family/blood member.

Otherwise, who's life are you saving? It could be a drug addicts that needs an organ, it could be someone who doesn't deserve it.
I would like to keep them, but that's my choice, you should make your own.

    Absolutely not.

I can see donating some blood as not a big deal, but even personally I wouldn't donate my organs ever.

I am a donator I believe helping people if you can is the best thing once your gone, you never know when you could be suddenly killed in a car accident. Then they maybe be able to use your heart to save someone elses life.

Then the fact of who they go to well take the movie 7 pounds. Imagine if you could do something like that after your gone and help a bunch of people who need it.

Now we have people saying well it's ok if it's a family member....what if it's some child who needs a kidney transplant or they will die. If I can save 1 person after I'm gone I consider that a success because we all in general deserve a chance to live.

My question is for those of you who say "They don't deserve it".

How do you know they don't deserve it considering you'll most likely never know who it went to?

I would never donate my organs to another human being I am not emotionally tied to. Not being able to survive because of a deficient organ is a fundamental weakness and they don't deserve to live if they can't survive without somebody elses.

Obviously this is just a personal view point.

I think giving your organs is seriously wrong! Never will do it.

There isn't anything wrong with it. It's your organs, it's your body. If someone wants to donate part of their body to a good cause, that's their decision.
Personally I would never do it. In the event of a fatal car accident, you're heart can still be beating, pumping your blood to your veins, but since you have signed something saying you will donate, they will take your heart and you will be dead...even though you had a small chance of life. You aren't dead until your heart stops and brain dies. But they can still take your organs. I would live in constant fear of this if I decided to donate.

Personally I don't thing its 'wrong' but I do think it slightly selfish.

I want to donate my organs when I die to give someone else the chance to live a better life.
