That's a completely different statement, but I understand what you're trying to convey.

I'm just saying all this thread will be doing is attracting more attention to the problem.

It's all about influence... Pen is in a position of large influence as an Admin - people believe what he says.

EDIT: I admit, making a thread is just going to draw more attention to it... but Pen shouldn't have done it- a PM to another staff member might have been a better option.

To clear things up: I'm not worried about me losing business, etc.

It's just wrong to see Pen putting that in his sig and thinking it's okay. Especially since he knew why I was banned and demoted in the first place.

It's clever advertisement. I see nothing wrong with it - this same practice occurs, legally, in real life. No support.

Actually most new people would not know that he was banned for interest in phising and just see the signatures saying he is a good person to train fishing.

Above the signature with Hahanerds it shows my signature saying a complete skilling.

Although I consider HHN a good friend, and I can see why the signature is offensive to him, it has been very clearly determined in previous issues that a signature space is one's personal space, and as long as it complies with Sythe rules, then anything can be placed in there.

Obviously the specific ad in question may be a bit excessive in advertising cosrob's service, he still has every right to put it in there if he so chooses. A PM to Pen might have been a better option in this case.

Advertisement was clever, however it was clearly slander which should not be seen from an admin of a site. Its like 2 major parties selling a product on eBay and eBay staff themselves making a nasty joke about one of the parties.

    Do you want it changed?

You do realise that if you pm'ed me about it before making a thread I would of changed it.

But isn't placing a statement such as "Hahanerd is only good at Fishing" in ones signature almost cleverly accusing them of scamming? And in this specific case there was obviously a mistake or not enough evidence to warrant a permanent ban on Hahanerd, so the statement would actually be accusing a member of scamming without sufficient proof?
Say if I put in my signature "Nate Stole my Pumpkin! He Scams!" would you be very happy? (Don't worry, ILY Nate <3)
And then there's the added fact that Pen is an Admin - his opinion is regarded highly above most other members.

Obviously if you put that in your sig, I wouldnt like it, but it is your sig, and you can do as you please. There have been previous instances in which a member accused another member of scamming in their signature ("Dont trade with xxxxx, he is a scammer!"), and it was determined that it was permissable. So either way, his signature, although slightly uncouth, is within the confines of rules. And I have no doubt that if a PM had been sent to cosrob/Pen, the issue would have been solved easily.

If your going to be all technical about it, then the sig is simply saying that HHN is only good at training the skill fishing, which has no relevancy to hacking/scamming etc, so again, he is not breaking the rules in any fashion.

But then that 'new guy' wouldn't know of Haha's relation to phishing. To them, 'Hahanerd is only good at fishing' may seem like a statement which says that he is only good at the fishing skill, and for all other skills is unsatisfactory.

I'm sure a lot of you post random shit in the spam forum because there is no penalty and you're allowed to. The same is for one's signature space. Pen can use it as he pleases (so long as it breaches no rules). He's allowed to do it, and he's being paid to do it, so why not? People flame in the spam forum - I'm pretty sure Hahanerd has posted things in the spam forum deemed 'unprofessional' (and perhaps more harmful) so why is Pen's case different? The point of the spam forum is to spam and the point of having a signature is to put what you want. Sure it may be unprofessional, but that's the whole point.

Thankfully your interpretation of Pen's signature does not make it reality, nor does it merit an infraction ; )

He's not accusing him of scamming, nor is he accusing him of phishing.

I could say 'xxx is good at scamming' but does that imply he/she does it? No. You may be good at something, or have the potential to be (all admins can be 'good' at scamming due to their position and how much they are trusted, but they don't).

Regarding point one, sure, you can put whatever you want in your sig, as long as it doesnt break any rules.

And regarding your second line, "claimed what it was meant for, making the implied a fact"? You are trying to hard with the vocab man. The simple reality is that Pen was paid to advertise Cosrob's skilling service, and regardless of how one interprets the ad, there is no direct association or accusation aimed at HHN. The fact that some people see a clever play on words within the ad is subjective to each user, and again, it does not break any rules as it doesnt claim he has done anything wrong.

Ah, glad that you finally admitted that it is not against the rules. I was just about to post this as well ; )

    Taken directly from the rules.

"Accusing someone of scamming: without proof (text logs DO NOT COUNT AS PROOF)"

Since we are getting so stingy on specificity, as you can see here, the rule is accusation of scamming, not phishing. Yes phishing is a bannable offense, but accusation of it is not infractable. So even if he were accusing him of phishing (which he isn't), then again, according to the rules, no infraction.

Now that we are past that, yes, I do agree that it is unprofessional, and as I stated in a previous post, I am sure a simple PM to both people would have resulted in a speedy change of the sig.

    EDIT:

Your banned now, guess you didn't know the rules so well after all eh?

    Hold the carts, gentlemen!

Let's all focus on the subject in hand, shall we?

I think it's a bit out of order to 'put down' Hahanerds, from what i've seen, excellent skilling business in someone's signature, especially that of an admin. Paid for or not.

I think its funny, yet amusing anyone would even care? It's just a signature, anyone that doesn't know hahanard, wouldn't even get the meaning of the signature and just think hes good at the skill fishing, while the people who do, knows he is safe and would trust him anyways. I mean it took myself, 10 minutes just to put the two together "fishing/phishing" lol clever, cosrob you should go into commercials.
